Taillon allowed one earned run in five innings Friday, scattering five hits and two walks while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The righty labored through five innings, throwing 95 pitches (58 for strikes). Of course, he may have struggled with concentration when the Pirates took an early 9-0 lead. Taillon has pitched well in 2017 (2.08 ERA, 1.25 WHIP), but after walking only 17 batters in 104 innings as a rookie, he's issued 12 free passes in only 30.1 innings.

Taillon (1-0) allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 5.1 innings, but received no decision Saturday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon pitched five innings of shutout ball before imploding in the sixth, and he left the game with a 5-3 deficit, but the offense was able to take him off the hook for a potential loss. He still boasts a 2.13 ERA, and he's held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three of his four starts, and the second-year righty is looking like a solid fantasy option. He'll make his next start Friday against the Marlins.

Taillon (1-0) allowed one unearned run on seven hits while walking three and striking out six over seven innings for his first win of the season in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon now sports a sparking 0.90 ERA and 16:7 K:BB ratio after the 108-pitch outing Sunday. He's only allowed three runs in 20 innings to start the season after he finished second among NL rookie starters last year with a 3.38 ERA. The sky is the limit for the 25-year-old, and he looks to be even better so far in his sophomore campaign.

Taillon gave up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings Tuesday, but came away with a no-decision in a 6-2 loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old has had a strong start to 2017, posting a 1.38 ERA and 10:4 K:BB through his first 13 innings, but a lack of run support has left Taillon without a decision to show for his efforts. He could have a tough time getting into the win column in his next start, however, on the road Sunday against the Cubs.

Taillon is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday against the Reds as a result of Thursday's rainout, Stephen Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday's postponed moved Chad Kuhl's start to Saturday, which created a chain reaction that ultimately shifted Taillon's scheduled start a day later. Thankfully, this alteration keeps the 25-year-old in line for a two-start week. Taillon is expected to go toe-to-toe with Rookie Davis in his next start.

Taillon shut the Red Sox out over seven innings Wednesday, giving up five hits and three walks while striking out six. He didn't receive a decision in an eventual 12-inning loss.
EDGE Analysis
This was a sparkling season debut in a tough situation for Taillon, who opened his first full MLB campaign by dueling Red Sox ace Chris Sale to a standstill. At 25 years old and with great pedigree as the second overall pick in 2010, the time is right for Taillon to make his leap forward into greatness. With his mid-90s fastball as well as a quality curve and change, Taillon is poised to mystify hitters all year long just as he did with Boston's powerful lineup Wednesday. He'll make his next start Monday at home against the Reds.

Taillon gave up one run in three innings Friday against the Blue Jays in Olympic Stadium, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
The final tuneup prepares Taillon for his first start in the second game of the season at Fenway Park. He looks to build upon an impressive debut in 2016, when he compiled a 3.38 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 85:17 K:BB in 104 innings. Taillon has dealt with his share of injuries, but he'll finally get to show why the Bucs selected him second overall (ahead of Manny Machado) in 2010.

Taillon allowed two runs in six innings in a minor-league game at Pirate City on Sunday, Pirates Prospects reports. "I feel really good. I feel healthier than I did last year," Taillon said. "I feel fresher, stronger, more athletic. I'm ready to go."
EDGE Analysis
Taillon, who will throw a scaled back start later this week to stay sharp, has registered a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 spring innings, including a 10:4 K:BB. He worked on his two changeup grips Sunday. "I'm lucky I have a feel for both. I can go back and forth," Taillon said. "If I'm throwing 80 percent four seams one day, my two seam doesn't feel good, I can throw 80 percent four-seam changeups that day." After missing all of 2014 and 2015, the righty threw a combined 165.2 innings split between the minors and majors. As a result, he shouldn't face an innings restrictions limit in 2017.

Taillon allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in 4.1 innings Monday, striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The team hoped to have him go five innings but he reached his pitch limit ahead of schedule. Taillon, who has compiled a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 spring innings on nine hits and four walks while striking out 10, enters 2017 behind Gerrit Cole but has the potential to serve as the team's ace. He'll look to build off of an impressive rookie campaign in which he registered a 3.38 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 85:17 K:BB in 104 innings.

Taillon, who will start the second game of the season in Boston, allowed two runs on three hits and two walks in two innings Sunday. He struck out three batters.
EDGE Analysis
Although he needed 42 pitches (22 strikes) and served up a long homer to Adam Jones, Taillon was pleased with his new two-seam change-up grip. "It's feeling comfortable," Taillon said. "I got a couple swings and misses. I'm normally not a big swing-and-miss guy on the changeup, so that's a good sign."
