McGee will play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander struggled a bit last season in his new hitter-friendly home, posting a career-high 4.73 ERA and 1.8 HR/9 in 45.2 innings out of the Rockies bullpen. That aside, he'll get a head start on the season by suiting up for the Americans in the WBC, joining a relief corps that boasts solid arms like Andrew Miller, Sam Dyson, and David Robertson. Once the US finishes their run in the tournament, McGee will return to Denver and hope to keep the ball in the park better with the hopes of being the primary setup man at manager Bud Black's disposal.

McGee agreed to a one-year, $5.9 million contract with the Rockies on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
A knee strain put McGee on the shelf in June and cost him his job as the Rockies' closer, and he struggled in a setup role initially upon his return. However, McGee pitched reasonably well over the final two months -- well enough to convince the Rockies he'd be worth nearly $6 million next season. The lefty figures to continue helping set up Adam Ottavino to begin 2017.

McGee holds a 2.38 ERA and 1.41 WHIP to go with 14 strikeouts in his past 11.1 innings pitched.
EDGE Analysis
Considering the high bar that was set for McGee prior to the season, the left-hander has been fairly disappointing in his first year in Colorado. That being said, he's gotten back to his dominant ways since the beginning of August. The 30-year-old's strikeouts are back up, his command improved (2.4 BB/9 in past 11.1 innings pitched), and he's only allowed one home run in that span. His season numbers still aren't what the Rockies or fantasy owners would like to see (especially his WHIP), but he could work his way into the conversation to be next year's closer if he continues to finish out the season strongly.

McGee has struggled a fair amount since transitioning into his role as the Rockies' setup man, posting a 7.00 ERA and 7.0 K/9 in 14 appearances.
EDGE Analysis
McGee began the season as Colorado's closer, but he was usurped from that role after he went on the disabled list in June with a knee injury. The left-hander has done nothing to change manager Walt Weiss' mind on the matter, as this rough stretch has raised his season ERA to 5.58 while lowering his K/9 to 6.5, both easily career-worst marks. Thankfully, the Rockies are playing well as of late, meaning that there have been a good number of hold opportunities recently, but as long as current closer Carlos Estevez continues to hold his own in the ninth, McGee will likely have to rely on amassing holds to garner any fantasy value going forward.

Manager Walt Weiss said Sunday that McGee will be used primarily in the seventh and eighth inning for the time being, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McGee was activated from the DL on Saturday following a three-week absence due to a left knee strain, and the Rockies will attempt to ease him back into high-leverage work at the back end of the bullpen. Carlos Estevez filled in effectively as the Rockies' closer while McGee was out, converting four of five save chances while producing a 4.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in nine innings, and he'll get a chance to hang onto the gig as long as his performance warrants it. Given Estevez's mediocre peripherals and lack of pedigree heading, it seems likely that he'll implode at some point, so McGee remains a worthy stash option in deep leagues for fantasy owners speculating on saves.

McGee (knee) was activated off the 15-day disabled list Saturday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies will get some much-needed help in the back end of the bullpen with McGee's return from left knee inflammation. McGee has been efficient in save opportunities this season, converting 15 out of 18 chances, but his ERA sits at an undesirable 4.98 to go with a 1.57 WHIP. The Rockies designated Yohan Flande for assignment in a corresponding move Saturday.

McGee (knee) is expected to return to action Saturday when the Rockies take on the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
McGee has been able to play catch everyday without tiring out his arm. While he is 14-of-17 in save opportunities this year, the Rockies will wait to decide whether he will return back in that role. Manager Walt Weiss described the bullpen as "ever-evolving".

McGee (left knee) threw a 20-pitch bullpen Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McGee has been dealing with left knee inflammation that forced him to go the DL on June 11 and has been making steady progress since then. He threw from 110 feet on flat ground Friday and has taken another step forward by throwing a bullpen session. He's scheduled to throw another one Sunday and could bypass a rehab assignment and return to the Rockies organization once eligible on June 25.

McGee (knee) threw from 110 feet on flat ground Friday, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McGee continues to make steady progress in his return from a sprained knee, an injury he sustained June 10. He'll continue a throwing regimen while keeping weight off of his leg for the time being, leaving a bit of murkiness around his potential return date. The left-hander's first opportunity to be activated off the disabled list will come on June 25.

McGee was moved to the 15-day disabled list Saturday due to a left knee strain, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McGee underwent an MRI on Saturday that likely revealed less than favorable results, and he will now move to the disabled list as a result. The top candidates to replace him in the role for the time being are Jason Motte and Carlos Estevez but manager Walt Weiss hasn't announced who will serve in the role at this point.
