DeGrom was scratched from his start Monday due to a stiff back blamed on his mattress but was able to throw a bullpen session and is expected to be fine for his next start, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets didn't want deGrom to make the two and a half hour bus ride to Lakeland to face the Tigers, which is why he was scratched. As he was able to throw a bullpen session without incident, the belief is that this is a one-time incident and he should be fine moving forward.

DeGrom (leg) threw three innings Wednesday against the Yankees in Grapefruit League play, and should be considered healthy moving forward.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed five hits and one earned run while issuing zero walks and striking out two. DeGrom threw 46 pitches and his fastball ranged from 91-93 mph, so he is not quite at mid-season form. Look for him to build up his innings and velocity in future spring starts, and his status for the start of the season is not in jeopardy.

DeGrom (leg) returned to the rubber Monday, tossing a bullpen session without issue, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of multiple stud Mets arms, deGrom remained on schedule Wednesday by taking the mound. There's no reason to believe the setback was anything more than minor at this point, but prospective owners may want to keep an eye out for either confirmation that he's 100 percent healthy or the 27-year-old's ability to pitch in a spring training game. So far though, it seems precautionary remains an accurate description of the reasoning behind deGrom's small steps backwards.

DeGrom, who skipped Monday's bullpen session due to a sore leg/groin, threw on flat ground Tuesday and is expected to throw from a mound Wednesday, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
The "injury" was originally deemed as a mild setback and deGrom's ability to throw on flat ground Tuesday and be scheduled to toss off a mound Wednesday seems to confirm this.

DeGrom skipped Monday's bullpen session due to a sore leg, but he is expected to throw from a mound Wednesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom's setback does not seem serious, as he was able to throw on flat ground Monday, and the Mets were likely just taking the cautious route early this spring. As long as he is able to get back on the bump Wednesday as expected, he should be able to quickly put the injury in the past.

DeGrom and his wife are expecting their first child the first week or April, which could impact the team's rotation early in the season, the NY Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have three off days the first week of the season, which could allow deGrom to be easily skipped without impacting the rotation. This is unlikely to have a major impact but worth keeping in mind early in the season when setting your lineup.

Manager Terry Collins said Monday that he doesn't anticipate any innings limit restrictions for deGrom in 2016.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom threw 191 innings during the regular season and 25 more in the post-season, a jump from 178.2 in 2014. He wore down a bit late in the season but was brilliant the first two rounds of the playoffs before struggling in Game 2 of the World Series. DeGrom should open 2016 as the Mets' number-one starter.

deGrom will start Game 2 of the World Series in Kansas City on Wednesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets will trot out Matt Harvey in Game 1, followed by deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Steven Matz. If the series goes the distance, deGrom will also take the mound in Game 6, as manager Terry Collins intends to use a strict four-man rotation. In three starts (all wins) this postseason, deGrom has given up four runs on 15 hits and five walks, while punching out 27 in 20 innings.

Manager Terry Collins believes deGrom is fatigued, and is therefore considering starting Matt Harvey in Game 1 of the World Series, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have not yet announced the official rotation for the World Series, but as strange as it sounds, Harvey might actually be the starter who lines up to potentially pitch three times for New York. While he may not start Game 1, Collins confirmed that deGrom would get the ball in Game 2 at the latest. The fact that he is fatigued should not be a surprise or a concern heading into 2016, as he has still been downright filthy in the postseason despite logging 211 innings so far, which tops his previous career high of 178.1 in 2014.

DeGrom would receive the start in Game 5 against the Dodgers should it be required, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom pitched a nearly flawless first playoff outing for the Mets, tossing seven scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts, and could be rewarded with another NLDS start because of it. If that's the case, he would potentially be matched up with either Clayton Kershaw or Zack Greinke.
