DeGrom tossed seven scoreless innings against the Dodgers on Friday to earn a victory in Game 1 of the NLDS. He allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 13.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander had a little something extra on the big stage, with 73 of his 75 fastballs thrown clocking in above his regular-season average of 94.9 mph. He induced 24 swings-and-misses, outdueling Clayton Kershaw, who also turned in a double-digit strikeout performance. After the game, manager Terry Collins told ESPN New York that deGrom probably "went too far" to be an option to start Game 4 on short rest.

DeGrom will start Game 1 of the Mets' divisional series against the Dodgers, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Noah Syndergaard will start Game 2 in Los Angeles, followed by Matt Harvey in Game 3 when the series shifts to Citi Field. DeGrom is getting a final tuneup Sunday and will be on regular rest for the series opener.

DeGrom's next start will be Sunday against the Reds, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Degrom's scheduled spot in the rotation - Tuesday - is being filled by Logan Verrett. So in essence, deGrom misses a full turn, as he won't pitch until Sunday. That lines him up to start against Washington, October 2-4 at Citi Field, if necessary.

Degrom's upcoming Tuesday start will be delayed, rather than skipped entirely, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Degrom is simply being rested Tuesday during his scheduled start as Logan Verrett takes the mound in his place. While deGrom's next stint on the mound is still unannounced, it seems likely to take place sometime before the weekend since he's not entirely being skipped over in the rotation.

DeGrom will be skipped in the rotation Tuesday with Logan Verrett getting the nod in his place, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has a 6.41 ERA and .330 opponent batting average over his past five starts. The Mets believe that fatigue has resulted in a change in his release point, resulting in a loss in his normal pinpoint control, as his pitches have drifted up in the strike zone. The hope is that by skipping a start, it will relieve the fatigue and allow deGrom to close the season out strong.

DeGrom got clobbered for six runs on 10 hits with zero walks and five strikeouts over five innings Tuesday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
It would have been tough to predict this outcome, as deGrom had a 1.63 ERA in 23 career starts at home and a 1.80 ERA against Miami prior to Tuesday's dud. There has been no talk of deGrom being skipped or shut down, but he could be feeling the effects of throwing a career-high 181 innings this season. He will make his next start Monday at home against the Braves, which should be as good a matchup as any for deGrom to get back on track.

DeGrom (13-7) struck out nine while allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in seven innings in a win over the Nationals on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He and Stephen Strasburg dueled it out in this one, but it ended up being deGrom who emerged victorious -- his first win in four starts. The outstanding second-year hurler is now just 16 strikeouts away from hitting 200 for the first time in his career. We suspect it won't be his last.

DeGrom turned in a quality start, albeit not to his normal standards, allowing three runs on nine hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out four over six innings. He came away with a no-decision in the Mets loss to the Msrlins in 11 innings Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
He hasn't been quite as sharp lately, and the Mets are trying hard to keep his (and their other young starters) innings in check. In mid-August, his ERA was a microscopic 1.98 and it has now drifted up to 2.40 - still certainly solid, and most of that rise came in a rough start against the Phillies on August 25.

DeGrom was the hard-luck loser Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings while striking out 10.
EDGE Analysis
He rebounded as well as you could expect from his previous outing, but deGrom simply got out-dueled by Boston's Joe Kelly. He'll hope for some better run support in his next start Friday in Miami.

DeGrom closed out his first half of the season with a dominant performance, throwing eight shutout innings against the Giants on Wednesday. He allowed just two hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts in 99 pitches.
DeGrom's overall numbers reflect just how dominant he has been. So far, he has a 2.14 ERA, 2.63 FIP, 3.04 xFIP, 1.66 BB/9 and an 8.87 K/9. DeGrom might get the nod from manager Bruce Bochy to start the All-Star Game for the National League.
