Ivan Nova notched a lucky win in Wednesday's 6-5 victory over the Angels, allowing five runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Nova struck out two and walked three as he improved to 6-2 on the season. Despite the gaudy record (oh, the joy of wins), Nova's ERA now rests at 5.60 through 62 2/3 innings, while he's the owner of an equally uninspiring 1.58 WHIP. It's hard to quibble with his 58/20 K/BB ratio, however. He'll get the Rays at home next Wednesday.

Ivan Nova kept his road winning streak alive by allowing three runs over seven innings Friday in a victory over the A's.
Nova has now won nine in a row on the road. Tonight's effort was just his fourth quality start in nine tries this season. He gave up homers to Kila Ka'aihue and Josh Reddick in the outing, bringing his season total to 12 allowed.

Ivan Nova is nursing a minor hamstring problem but will make his scheduled start Friday.
It's apparently no big deal, but Nova doesn't need any encumbrances as he tries to snap out of the funk he's been in. Nova struck out a career-high 12 batters in his last start and has really increased his strikeout rate this season, but he's also posted a 5.69 ERA over his first eight starts. He'll try to bounce back against the A's Friday.

Ivan Nova struck out a career-high 12 batters on Saturday, but allowed five runs over six innings in a loss to the Reds.
Nova, who left his last start with a contusion and sprain of his right foot and ankle, had eight strikeouts over the first three innings. He ended up allowing seven hits, two walks and a hit batsman. The big blow was a three-run home run by Joey Votto in the top of the fifth. Nova now owns a 5.69 ERA over his first eight starts, despite a solid 52/16 K/BB ratio in 49 innings. He'll look to bounce back with a favorable matchup against the A's on the road next Friday.

Ivan Nova (foot, ankle) made it through a bullpen session Thursday with no issues and is expected to make his next scheduled start Saturday against the Reds.
Nova left his start Monday with a contusion and sprain of his right foot and ankle, but it's nothing serious. The 25-year-old right-hander will bring a 5.44 ERA into Saturday's outing.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated that Ivan Nova (foot, ankle) may miss his next scheduled start.
Nova exited Monday's game with a contusion and sprain of his right foot and ankle. X-rays came back negative, but he may not be ready to pitch Saturday against the Reds. "We'll have to see," said Girardi. "We have to be smart about it." David Phelps is the most likely replacement if he needs to be skipped in the rotation.

Ivan Nova improved to 2-0 after giving up four runs in six innings against the Angels on Sunday.
Nova struck out eight, but he also allowed eight hits, two of them homers from Mark Trumbo and Chris Iannetta. He has a 1.54 WHIP to go along with his 4.15 ERA so far. Still, this makes victories in 14 straight decisions for him.

Ivan Nova held the Orioles to two runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out seven over seven innings in the 6-2 win.
He's now earned a win in 13 straight decisions. Nova was brutal in spring training, but he looked pretty good in this one, even piling up some unexpected strikeouts. We're still expecting a regression from last year, but he should continue to pile up wins with the Yankees offense backing him. Nova will face the Angels next.

Ivan Nova pitched seven innings and allowed four runs Friday in the Yankees' 6-4 defeat of the Twins.
Nova was solid in earning his first win of the spring. He gave up a homer and two doubles, but he walked none and struck out five. The seven innings were three more innings than he had worked in any of his previous four starts.

Ivan Nova gave up five runs and seven hits in four innings of work against the Orioles on Sunday night.
Adam Jones and Matt Wieters both homered off him in the first, and while Nova gave up just one more run after that, the Orioles didn't stop hitting him. Nova is now 0-2 with a 7.82 ERA in 12 2/3 innings for the spring. His rotation spot really shouldn't be in any danger, but his 16-win rookie season won't leave him with too much margin for error if he struggles next month.
