The performance has Girardi weighing his options. "We have talked about what we are going to do. We wanted to get through today," Girardi said. "But that's something we could do." We're guessing Nova will likely still be sent back down, but he'd certainly be an option to return eventually.

We find that hard to believe, given that Phil Hughes was blasted for seven runs Friday and Bartolo Colon has just two quality starts since mid-June. Neither starter is a sure thing down the stretch. Klapisch thinks the Yankees' next step would be to give Ivan Nova another chance, but we've got to think if a guy like Ubaldo Jimenez is truly available, the Yankees will make a serious run at him.
