MLB Network's Peter Gammons reports that the Red Sox are among the teams that have "checked in" with the Marlins on Giancarlo Stanton.
The Rangers and Mets have also inquired about Stanton, but the Marlins have consistently said that they're "not interested." While there's been no indication that a trade will happen this year, it still can't be ruled out. Stanton is going to become expensive when he hits arbitration for the first time this offseason.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Rangers are "doing early reconnaissance and prep work on what it would take to land Giancarlo Stanton down the road."
Well, it would no doubt start with Jurickson Profar. The Marlins haven't given any indication that they're ready to deal their star, but Stanton will start to become expensive over the winter when he hits arbitration for the first time, so it can't be ruled out. Trading Stanton would likely result in the Marlins losing whatever is left of their fanbase, but it's not as if owner Jeffrey Loria cares about that.

Stanton has been feeling discomfort since last weekend in New York, which provides some context to his early struggles. The Marlins are already having trouble scoring runs, so they would be positively punchless if Stanton needs to miss an extended period of time.
