Thames is dealing with strep throat and his status for Wednesday's game against the Padres is questionable, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
With his absence from Tuesday's lineup, Thames has now missed the first two games of the Brewers' six-game road trip. Though the slugger's condition is reportedly improving, it sounds as if he may be forced to sit out Wednesday's contest, as well. Jesus Aguilar will continue to fill in at first base in the meantime.

Thames is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Jesus Aguilar will get his second straight start at first base with Thames being held out of the lineup again. It appears manager Craig Counsell is staying true to his word and will continue to carefully monitor Thames' workload after the slugger reported he was dealing with some tightness and soreness in his legs last week.

Thames is not in the lineup Monday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has been dealing with some tightness and soreness in his legs, so manager Craig Counsell will give him the day off as he continues to monitor the slugger's workload. Jesus Aguilar will draw the start at first base in his stead.

Manager Craig Counsell said he will have to be more careful with Thames' legs, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has been hampered by some tightness and soreness in his hamstring recently, so it appears Counsell will look to monitor his workload until he is back to full health. This likely means Thames won't see much time in the outfield with Ryan Braun (calf) on the DL, though it doesn't necessarily mean he's going to take a seat more often; he still should see the majority of starts at first base.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell removed Thames early from Saturday's game because he has been dealing with tightness and soreness, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers did blow out the Mets 11-4, which offered Counsell the perfect opportunity to rest his masher. Milwaukee would be wise to keep Thames fresh with Ryan Braun (calf) already on the 10-day disabled list. He went 0-for-2 but walked twice and scored a run before exiting via a double switch in the top of the sixth. The blossoming star should re-enter the lineup Sunday.

Thames probably will see a bit more time in left field with Ryan Braun (calf) on the 10-day disabled list, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinelreports.
EDGE Analysis
The emerging stud, who has 13 home runs, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored and a .331/.436/.737 slash in his first 140 major-league plate appearances since 2012, already might have eligibility at first base and outfield in many fantasy leagues. In setups where Thames started the year as only a first baseman, earning additional outfield qualification would be a bonus to the electric production he's offered so far.

Thames is not in the Brewers' Thursday lineup against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Tied for the league lead in home runs (13) heading into Thursday action, Thames will spend the afternoon on the pine. Expect him to resurface Friday. Jesus Aguilar takes his spot at first base and bats sixth.

Thames went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
He started off May a bit slow, but after homering Monday, he kept the good times rolling right along in this one. Thames is still averaging more than a run scored per game (32 in 31), and his 13 homers, 24 RBI and .327 average have made him one of the most valuable assets in fantasy. His strong plate discipline looks like it could take the edge off his inevitable slumps.

Thames went 3-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and two RBI during Sunday's win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger went without a multi-hit game over his previous 10 outings and posted a .615 OPS during the stretch, so Sunday's outing was a welcomed rebound. Thames is now up to 31 runs, 12 home runs, 22 RBI and a .324/.438/.731 slash line, but as good as he's been through the first five weeks of the year, his recent slump is probably not going to be his last of the season.

Thames went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Monday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has now reached base safely in 23 of his 24 games this year and sports an incredible .341/.463/.795 slash line with a league-leading 11 home runs and 20 RBI. His high BABIP (.352) won't support a high average forever, but it's safe to say that the power is for real. The left-handed slugger remains a must-start for the foreseeable future.
