Manager Craig Counsell said Thames sitting against left-handed pitchers won't necessarily be the norm all season, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has seen all of his games off against southpaws so-far, though Counsell noted that will likely change. It's unclear how he will be deployed in the future, but either way he should see plenty of at-bats given his ability to flex to the outfield if necessary.

Thames will head to the bench in favor of Jesus Aguilar as southpaw J.A. Happ is set to take the mound Tuesday. He'll likely return to the lineup Wednesday with Marcus Stroman on the mound.

Thames is not in the lineup Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
With left-hander Brett Anderson tabbed to toe the rubber for Chicago, Thames will head to the bench for a regular night off. Jesus Aguilar will fill in for him at first base, but look for Thames to return to the lineup Saturday and Sunday when righties Kyle Hendricks and Jake Arrieta take the hill.

Thames went 2-for-4 with his first homer of the year in Wednesday's win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Thames was the Barry Bonds of the the Korean league over the past three seasons, so the Brewers brought him back to the majors in hopes of capturing some of that magic. The early returns have been positive, as he's 3-for-9 with a pair of extra-base hits and three RBI. Now 30 years old, the lefty-swinging Thames should enjoy a premier role in Milwaukee's lineup whenever the team faces a right-handed starter.

Thames is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The left-handed Tyler Anderson is taking the hill for Colorado on Tuesday, so Milwaukee will start Jesus Aguilar at first instead of Thames. Thames will likely be back in the lineup Wednesday as Tyler Chatwood, a righty, is scheduled to get the start for the Rockies.

Thames will man first base and bat second in the order in Monday's Opening Day game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
While Thames didn't display the prodigious power in spring training that he had in the Korean Baseball Organization the past three seasons, the 30-year-old posted a .368 on-base percentage. That was good enough for Thames to convince manager Craig Counsell that he'd be a good fit in the upper third of the lineup, but he'll need to keep racking up the walks in order to stay there permanently. Thames is expected to be eligible only in the outfield --where he'd last played in the KBO -- to begin the season, but should gain eligibility at first base before long.

Thames is scheduled to play the outfield Friday during Cactus League play and could log some games there during the regular season, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Craig Counsell hinted Jesus Aguilar's torrid spring (.452/.531/.881 with five home runs and 13 RBI in 49 plate appearances) has factored into this idea, according to Haudricourt. Thames' positional eligibility has been set by individual fantasy leagues following his return from the Korean Baseball Organization, so this could give him dual eligibility in setups that characterize him as first baseman. Thames has struggled to produce much pop (one home run, .390 SLG) but has done OK otherwise this spring (.268 batting average, .388 OBP in 49 plate appearances).

EDGE Analysis
Thames was scratched from Friday's lineup with right knee soreness, but is set to return this afternoon. The injury appears to have been very minor.

Thames was scratched from Friday's lineup with right knee soreness.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how serious the issue is or how long it will keep him out, so he should be considered day-to-day until the Brewers say otherwise.

Thames is 4-for-19 (.211) with a double, an RBI, and a 4:6 BB:K this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Thames is having trouble making contact early this spring, but he is still doing a good job getting on base. After spending three years in Korea he will be the Brewers' primary first baseman to kick off the 2017 campaign, but he hits righties far better than lefties, so it remains to be seen how much playing time he will see against opposing southpaws.
