Danny Duffy was hammered in Friday's Cactus League start against the Athletics, surrendering five runs on five hits in just two innings of work.
The 25-year-old southpaw walked three and struck out two on the afternoon. Derek Norris provided the big blow against him, with a three-run homer in the second inning. He now owns an 11.00 ERA through nine innings on the spring, and could be headed to Triple-A to begin the season.

Danny Duffy (forearm) said he doesn't feel "any discomfort whatsoever," but he's unlikely to be activated from the disabled list for the final weekend.
Duffy also added that he's yet to throw off a mound, making the odds that we see him this weekend even more remote. The good news is that his strained left forearm doesn't appear to be an issue to worry about going into the offseason. He'll come to spring training with a good shot at cracking the Opening Day rotation.

Royals placed LHP Danny Duffy on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left forearm.
Duffy was diagnosed earlier this week with a "very mild flexor strain" in his throwing arm. He will not pitch again this season but should be fine for the start of 2014.

Danny Duffy was diagnosed with a "very mild flexor strain" following an MRI.
The Royals haven't officially shut him down, but it's very possible that he won't pitch again this season. Duffy is in his first year back from Tommy John surgery.

Danny Duffy (elbow) is dealing with inflammation in his flexor tendon.
That would explain why he has been scratched from the second straight start. The good news is that it's not related to his ulnar collateral ligament, but the Royals obviously don't want to take any chances. It's unclear when he'll pitch next.

Danny Duffy will have his turn in the rotation skipped Tuesday against the Indians.
This is the second straight time he has been skipped, as Duffy hasn't pitched since September 7 against the Tigers. He's in his first season back from Tommy John surgery, so it appears the Royals are playing things safe. Yordano Ventura is starting Tuesday.

Danny Duffy will be skipped in the rotation in lieu of starting Friday against the Tigers.
Duffy made it just 4 1/3 innings Saturday against the same Tigers -- walking five and allowing two earned runs -- so maybe this is for the best. Kansas City has an off-day on Thursday, so all other starters will remain on regular rest. Bruce Chen will start Friday.

Danny Duffy made it just 4 1/3 innings Saturday against the Tigers but escaped with a no-decision.
Duffy walked five and allowed two earned runs before exiting with one out in the fifth. Kansas City's offense and bullpen picked him up, and the Royals went on to win. Duffy has struggled now in two straight outings and shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues next week in Detroit.

Danny Duffy lasted just 3 2/3 innings Monday against the Mariners.
Duffy only allowed one run, but he gave up five hits and four walks while throwing 91 pitches. That's not going to get it done. On the bright side, Will Smith was excellent in relief, striking out eight batters over 4 1/3 innings of one-hit ball. Duffy will aim to be more efficient next time in a tough matchup against the first-place Tigers at home.

Danny Duffy was outstanding in Wednesday's victory over the Twins, tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings and racking up seven strikeouts.
Duffy scattered just five hits and didn't issue a walk in the game. He had impeccable command of all of his pitches and fantastic life on his fastball. Through his first 16 1/3 innings, Duffy has allowed just a pair of runs while posting a 17/5 K/BB ratio. At this point he should be owned and started in all mixed leagues, especially for Monday's matchup against the Mariners.
