Danny Duffy lasted just 3 2/3 innings Monday against the Mariners. Duffy only allowed one run, but he gave up five hits and four walks while throwing 91 pitches. That's not going to get it done. On the bright side, Will Smith was excellent in relief, striking out eight batters over 4 1/3 innings of one-hit ball. Duffy will aim to be more efficient next time in a tough matchup against the first-place Tigers at home.
