Chris Nelson (hamstring) ran the bases Tuesday. Nelson was activated from the DL a week ago, but he's yet to play in a game. However, he's still hopeful of being ready to rejoin the lineup later this week. The infielder has been out since late August with a strained right hamstring.

Angels activated 3B Chris Nelson from the 15-day disabled list. Nelson strained his right hamstring late last month and was supposed to be lost for the season, but he's made a rapid recovery. The Angels haven't posted their lineup for Tuesday's game at Oakland yet, but he should be out there at third base.

Chris Nelson (hamstring) could be activated from the disabled list next week. When Nelson strained his right hamstring on August 28, the Angels figured his season was probably over. The infielder has made rapid progress, though. "He still has some work to do, might be about a week, but considering when he did it, you could've been looking at the whole season," manager Mike Scioscia said. "He looks like he'll be in the earlier window of what a hamstring can be."

Chris Nelson (hamstring) was able to run on a treadmill on Friday, and still has his sights set on returning before the end of the season. Nelson has been on the shelf since late-August after straining his right hamstring in a loss to the Royals. Even if he is able to return before the season's end, his fantasy value will be minimal.

Angels placed INF Chris Nelson on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. Nelson suffered the hammy strain in Wednesday's loss to the Royals and will likely be out for three weeks. Luis Jimenez was recalled in a corresponding roster move.

Chris Nelson will be placed on the disabled list on Thursday due to a strained right hamstring sustained in Wednesday's loss to the Rays. Andrew Romine replaced him in the lineup on Wednesday and could see additional playing time while Nelson is out. Angels manager Mike Scioscia has yet to indicate who will replace Nelson on the active roster, but Luis Jimenez is the most likely candidate.

Chris Nelson was removed from Wednesday's contest against the Rays in the seventh inning due to a strained right hamstring. It's not clear how long he may be sidelined, but the injury could require a stint on the disabled list. Andrew Romine could be in line for additional at-bats at third base in his absence and could be worth a look in deep AL-only leagues.

Chris Nelson was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rays in the seventh inning with an apparent injury. It appeared that Nelson may have tweaked something while running to first base. Andrew Romine replaced him in the lineup and could be in line for additional at-bats in the coming days if Nelson remains sidelined.

Chris Nelson connected for a grand slam and a solo homer in an 8-4 win over the Yankees on Thursday. Nelson entered the day with zero homers over 176 plate appearances this season, but he had a power explosion against his former team. The grand slam was the first of his career. The 27-year-old should get most of the playing time at third base now that Alberto Callaspo is with Oakland, so he's a worthwhile option in AL-only leagues.

Angels purchased the contract of INF Chris Nelson from Triple-A Salt Lake. He'll take the place of the recently-traded Alberto Callaspo on the active roster. Nelson went 3-for-9 with two RBI and a stolen base over seven games during his first stint with the Angels earlier this year.
