Chris Nelson (heart) went 0-for-3 with an RBI ground out Tuesday in his first rehab game with Triple-A Colorado Springs. It was his first game action since undergoing an emergency procedure in mid-July to shock his heartbeat back into rhythm. Fortunately the scary episode is now behind him. The 26-year-old infielder should rejoin the Rockies at some point this month.

Rockies placed INF Chris Nelson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 16, with an irregular heartbeat. Nelson had a successful procedure Tuesday to shock his heart back into rhythm and it expected to be OK, but the Rockies didn't want to take any chances. He could be back when first eligible. "Due to the fact that [his heart] was not able to go back into rhythm on its own, there's at least six or seven days of very limited activity he'll have," manager Jim Tracy said. "As a result, we had to put him on the disabled list."

Chris Nelson (irregular heartbeat) remains hospitalized. Nelson had his heart shocked back into rhythm on Monday night and is now being monitored. The Rockies seem likely to put him on the 15-day disabled to be safe.

Chris Nelson (irregular heartbeat) is resting at a Denver hospital but will remain there overnight. An official diagnosis hasn't been revealed yet, but it sounds like Nelson will be OK after being checked out for an irregular heartbeat. It's not clear if the Rockies might play it safe and go ahead and DL him, though.

Chris Nelson was admitted to the hospital Monday and is undergoing tests for an irregular heart beat. Obviously more will be known once the tests are performed, but hopefully everything is OK. Nelson is batting .256/.324/.411 with five homers over 58 games this season for the Rockies.

Chris Nelson and Wilin Rosario hit two-run homers to power the Rockies to a 4-1 win over the Phillies on Thursday. Nelson homered in the seventh, while Rosario supplied a pair of insurance runs in the ninth. Nelson has three homers in his last six games after hitting just two in his first 35. If he can stay hot, he'll turn into a fixture at second base for the Rockies, giving him a fair amount of value in NL-only leagues.

Rockies activated INF Chris Nelson from the 15-day disabled list. He'll take the place of the injured Troy Tulowitzki (groin) on the active roster. Nelson was hitting .219/.313/.288 with zero homers, seven RBI and a .601 OPS in 83 plate appearances prior to landing on the disabled list with left wrist inflammation early this month. It's not clear how the Rockies intend to use him, but he figures to be pretty active over the next couple of weeks. He's only worth a look in NL-only leagues, though.

Chris Nelson (wrist) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored Tuesday in his second minor league rehab game with Triple-A Colorado Springs. Nelson went 0-for-3 in his first game on Monday. He is eligible to return from the disabled list on May 31 and should get a decent amount of playing time at third base now that Jonathan Herrera (hamstring) is DL-bound.
