Chris Nelson will be placed on the disabled list on Thursday due to a strained right hamstring sustained in Wednesday's loss to the Rays. Andrew Romine replaced him in the lineup on Wednesday and could see additional playing time while Nelson is out. Angels manager Mike Scioscia has yet to indicate who will replace Nelson on the active roster, but Luis Jimenez is the most likely candidate.
