Chris Narveson (shoulder) said he "felt great" during a bullpen session Sunday.
It was his first time throwing from a mound since he underwent rotator cuff surgery back in May. "It felt great," Narveson said. "It's a long time coming, that you come to the field with a smile on your face, ready to get back after it." Narveson will throw a few more bullpen sessions before progressing to live batting practice. Barring any setbacks, he's expected to be healthy for the start of spring training.

Chris Narveson (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday.
It will be his first since he underwent rotator cuff surgery back in May. "I'm looking forward to getting back on the mound," said Narveson, who will be allowed to throw only 15-20 fastballs. "It's been a long time. It's a big difference from throwing on flat ground." The lefty is expected to be 100 percent by spring training.

Chris Narveson underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair the labrum and rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder.
Narveson will need nine months to recover, so he will miss the rest of the season and possibly the early part of spring training next year. The 30-year-old southpaw has made 28 starts for the Brewers in each of the past two seasons and will be arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.

Chris Narveson confirmed Tuesday that he needs season-ending surgery on his left (throwing) shoulder.
Narveson was placed on the disabled list last week after he was found to have a tear in his left rotator cuff and decided on season-ending surgery after consulting with a couple of specialists early this week. The 30-year-old southpaw allowed seven earned runs, four walks and 10 hits in nine innings this year for the Brewers.

Chris Narveson (shoulder) has been told that he'll likely need surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder, but he'll seek a second opinion to be sure.
If Narveson were forced to undergo the surgery, he would likely miss the remainder of the season. Marco Estrada will start in his place on Saturday, though Wily Peralta may also be given consideration to take his rotation spot in the long run.

Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash said that team physician William Raasch was scheduled to review the MRI of Chris Narveson's left shoulder on Friday.
Narveson was placed on the disabled list Friday with a torn left rotator cuff. He'll miss an extended period of time no matter what, but we'll know more about his status after Raasch has a chance to review the MRI. Surgery would knock him out for the season and perhaps longer. Marco Estrada will fill in for him Saturday, but Wily Peralta might be a better long-term solution for the rotation.

Brewers placed LHP Chris Narveson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 16, with a tear of the left rotator cuff.
The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but it certainly doesn't sound good. The 30-year-old southpaw had allowed eight runs (seven earned) in nine innings over his first two starts this season. It's not clear who will start in his place Saturday, but Marco Estrada is a possibility.

Chris Narveson managed to win his first start of the 2012 season on Tuesday, limiting the Cubs to two runs on six hits in five innings of work.
Narveson walked two and struck out four in the game. The Brewers offense came out in full force tonight, providing plenty of run support and taking the pressure off of Narveson. He'll hope they saved some of those runs for his next outing when he takes on the Braves.

Chris Narveson allowed four runs on five hits and four walks in 6 1/3 innings of Monday's 6-5 win over the Indians.
The shaky outing ballooned Narveson's spring ERA from 2.70 to 3.66. Now the owner of a 1.22 WHIP and 7/8 K/BB ratio through 19 2/3 Cactus League frames, Narveson can be counted on as a steady(ish) source of strikeouts in NL-only leagues.

Chris Narveson struggled through four innings against the Dodgers Tuesday, permitting three runs on seven hits and a walk.
He failed to record a strikeout and allowed three extra-base hits. Narveson had pitched well this spring up until this outing, though he's managed just five punchouts over 13 1/3 innings. He'll once again hold down the final spot in the Brewers rotation this season.
