Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI Saturday in the Orioles' 10-1 thrashing of Tyson Ross and the A's. Davis has been on an absolute tear lately, with the three-hit effort raising his average to .313 on the season. He now has four homers and 11 RBI in just 67 at-bats. The 26-year-old has always possessed tremendous power potential, but he actually appears to be maturing as an overall hitter. He's a nice option and source of power as a corner infielder in most fantasy leagues.

Chris Davis went 2-for-3 with a double and walk in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays. The nice afternoon comes one day after Davis belted his first home run of the season, and gives him an excellent .346/.370/.577 line through Baltimore's first eight games. Davis' average won't approach .300 when things are all said and done, but eligible at both first and third base, it's time to give him a look in your deeper mixed league if you've been hurting for options at your corner infield spot.

Chris Davis will not undergo sports hernia surgery as previously planned. Davis was expected to undergo surgery following the season, but has decided to rest and rehab the injury after seeing a specialist in Texas. The former top prospect batted .266/.305/.402 with five home runs, 19 RBI and a .707 OPS over 210 plate appearances between the Orioles and Rangers this season. He could compete for a starting job with the O's during spring training.

Chris Davis needs sports hernia surgery. Davis should be able to recover with enough time for a normal offseason program. The former top prospect batted .265 with a .699 OPS in 206 plate appearances this year.

Chris Davis will serve as the Orioles' primary third baseman through the end of the season. "We know Chris can play first base at a high level and have been told by some people who know and have seen him that he's got a chance to be a good third baseman, too," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Monday. "He's got the arm strength and athleticism." Davis, 25, has batted just .250/.308/.367 in 15 games since joining the Orioles. If he can get it together offensively and play adequate defense at the hot corner, he could open the 2012 season as Baltimore's starting third baseman. Mark Reynolds would remain at first.

Chris Davis struck out five times as part of an 0-for-6 day against the Yankees on Wednesday. He got down 0-2 in his sixth at-bat, only to ground out with the bases loaded, ending the 11th inning. Davis is the first player this year to strike out five times in a game. He held his own in stints with the Rangers earlier this season, but he's just 9-for-49 with one homer and 21 strikeouts with the Orioles.

The Orioles are expected to activate Chris Davis (shoulder) from the disabled list Tuesday. Davis, who is trying to play through a torn labrum in his right shoulder, went 3-for-6 with a double over two rehab games with Double-A Bowie. The Orioles are also expected to call up left-hander Clay Rapada, right-hander Jeremy Accardo and infielder Josh Bell from Triple-A Norfolk and infielder Pedro Florimon from Double-A Bowie.

Chris Davis (shoulder) will play in rehab games with Double-A Bowie on Sunday and Monday. He'll be at first base one day and third base the next. We're assuming that if Davis has no setbacks, he'll be activated following the short rehab assignment. The young corner infielder has decided to skip surgery and play through a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Chris Davis (shoulder) is expected to play in a minor league rehab game Sunday. It's not yet clear where he'll play. Davis, who was acquired from the Rangers at the trade deadline, is currently rehabbing from a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder. If he continues to have discomfort, he will likely opt for surgery.

Chris Davis (shoulder) took 25 swings off a tee and did some throwing Tuesday. This was his first baseball activity since landing on the disabled list earlier this month with a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder. The minor league schedule is winding down, but the Orioles are hopeful that he can play in some sort of rehab game on September 7. He could return for the final two three weeks of the season if all goes well.
