Chris Davis (shoulder) is not in the Orioles' starting lineup Monday against the White Sox.
Davis has played in only four games with the Orioles since the late-July trade freed him from the Rangers' farm system. He's being called "day-to-day" at the moment and is aiming to return to action on Tuesday.

An MRI on Chris Davis' shoulder revealed nothing serious.
Davis might still sit out a third straight game Sunday, but it's good to hear that nothing is terribly wrong with him. He won't hit or throw Sunday but is hoping to be back in the lineup Monday.

Chris Davis will undergo an MRI on his right shoulder on Saturday.
Davis was a late scratch from Friday's lineup, though the reason for the change wasn't confirmed until after the game. The severity of the injury isn't yet clear, but it looks like this guy just can't catch a break.

The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec believes Chris Davis' Friday benching is "more of an injury situation than a disclipinary thing."
The Orioles have vaguely described his absence from the lineup as a "manager's decision," but it indeed appears to be related to his aching right shoulder. We won't know for sure, however, until manager Buck Showalter decides to issue a more lengthy explanation.

Chris Davis was scratched Friday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
No word yet on the reason for the change, but MASN.com's Roch Kubatko writes that he had ice on his right shoulder earlier in the day. Mark Reynolds will now make the start at first base while Josh Bell plays third.

Orioles acquired 1B Chris Davis and RHP Tommy Hunter from the Rangers in exchange for RHP Koji Uehara.
Davis, 25, has seen his trade value plummet over the last few years. He's destroyed Triple-A pitching consistently -- posting a 1.006 OPS over 975 plate appearances in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League -- but has only a .248 batting average and 301 strikeouts over 878 major league at-bats. Davis has huge power potential, but it remains to be seen if he can ever make enough contact to become a major league regular.

Rangers recalled 1B Chris Davis from Triple-A Round Rock.
Davis has been raking in Triple-A all season, with a .368 batting average, 24 homers and an .824 slugging percentage in 48 games. He should draw some starts at third, first and DH while Adrian Beltre recovers from his hamstring strain. Davis is batting eighth and starting at the hot corner in Saturday's lineup.

Chris Davis (groin) is not in Triple-A Round Rock's lineup again Wednesday, but Rangers GM Jon Daniels said he's considered day-to-day.
Davis was a late scratch Tuesday with the groin ailment, but it looks to be a minor injury. Still, it could delay Davis' promotion to the majors, as his call-up had appeared to be imminent. He's hit .372/.417/.851 with 20 homers at Triple-A this season.
