Phillips (groin) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Make it four straight games out of the lineup for Phillips, who will be replaced at second base Saturday by Kris Negron after Ivan De Jesus got the nod the past three days. Phillips did, however, make a pinch-hit appearance Friday, which suggests the Reds don't view this as a potential DL situation.

Phillips (groin) was fine taking batting practice Friday but was left out of the lineup because he was gingerly taking ground balls, the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reports. He will be available to pinch hit Friday, as hitting is not an issue for him currently. However, he won't be back in the starting lineup until he can defend his position without issue.

Phillips (groin) remains out of the lineup Friday, the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reports. This will be his third straight game missed with the groin issue, and Ivan De Jesus will get the start at second base. Consider Phillips day-to-day for now.

Phillips (groin) remains out of the lineup Thursday against the Cubs. The groin strain that forced Phillips from Tuesday's game was deemed mild, but he will miss a second straight start and his availability off the bench is uncertain. Ivan De Jesus will start at second base and lead off Thursday against left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada.

As expected, Phillips (knee) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, according to Jamie Ramsey of the Reds. Phillips will take Wednesday off after leaving Tuesday's contest with the knee injury. The setback is considered mild, so there's a chance Phillips could get back on the field Thursday. Ivan De Jesus will man the keystone Wednesday in Phillips' place.

Phillips has a "mild" groin strain but will not play Wednesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans reports. Kris Negron, Skip Schumaker and Ivan De Jesus are all options to get the start at second base Wednesday. Phillips should be considered day-to-day heading into the Reds' four-game series in Chicago.

Phillips (knee) left Tuesday's game with a strained left groin. He appeared to suffer the injury while sliding in the first inning and then exited in the third inning. Ivan De Jesus Jr. moved from left field to second base with Skip Schumaker entering the game in left field. Consider Phillips day-to-day for now, but it sounds like something that could sideline him for at least a few games.

Phillips left Tuesday night's game in the third inning after appearing to hurt his knee sliding in the first inning. Phillips slid awkwardly into third base, appearing to jam the knee into the bag, which didn't budge at all. Skip Schumaker replaced him in the game, with Ivan De Jesus Jr. moving from left field to second base.

Phillips went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal, two RBI and a run Thursday against the Phillies. He's been on an absolute tear over his last four games, going 10-for-20 (.500) with three doubles, a homer, six RBI and two steals. Phillips has resurrected his speed game this year, as he's a perfect 8-for-8 on the bases after only stealing seven bags in 13 attempts over the last two seasons combined. And he's hitting for average, too, though that .338 BABIP is primed for regression.

Phillips went 2-for-5 on Tuesday with a double and two runs. The turf toe injury that kept him off the field three games last week appears to be behind him. After snapping out of his 0-for-15 streak on with a home run and two hits Sunday, Phillips had another multiple hit game to raise his average to .294. Consecutive games with an extra-base hit are encouraging considering he had only five in his first 160 at-bats this season.
