Phillips left Tuesday's game with an injury to his left big toe. Skip Schumaker came into the game in the seventh inning to pinch hit for Phillips, who went down swinging in each of his three trips to the plate. It wasn't apparent how Phillips got hurt and the extent of the issue is uncertain. He was still in the process of being evaluated when the Reds provided the initial injury update.

Phillips went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run Wednesday in a win over Pittsburgh. Phillips has been racking up multi-hit games lately, having collected two or more base knocks in five of his last six starts. Over that stretch, he's gone 11-for-22 (.500), lifting his average to .316 on the year. However, Phillips' unsustainable .349 BABIP means that average is going to come down, and his power looks like it may be gone for good.

Phillips was 2-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI, and a pair of stolen bases in a losing cause against the Braves Friday night. He missed Thursday's game with an illness, but returned to the lineup and contributed, albeit in a losing cause. He did swipe his first two stolen bases of the season, but that accomplishment was aided by Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz who struggled to shut down the Reds' running game.

Phillips (illness) is back in the lineup Friday. He will hit sixth against the Braves as he is apparently over the illness that sidelined him Thursday. While he's hitting .275 Phillips is only getting on base at a .293 clip, which explains why he's been dropped in the order.

Phillips was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to an illness, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Phillips was set to start at second base Thursday as he regularly does, but the illness will prevent him from starting the game. It's not clear if Phillips will be available off the bench, but Skip Schumaker will now start at second base Thursday night for the Reds.

Phillips went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday's win over the Brewers. Gone are the days where Phillips hits 20 or more home runs. In fact, he has not done that since 2009 and bottomed out with eight home runs last year. Phillips does not offer much at all in the counting stats these days, but he can usually remain healthy for most of the season and can get into double digits in home runs in a full season. He has not had double digit steals since 2012.

Phillips is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers, batting fourth. Phillips essentially got a day to refresh on Monday, with Kris Negron starting in his place. Though he's hitting .304, Phillips doesn't yet have an extra-base hit this season.

Phillips is not in the lineup Monday against the Brewers, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Phillips has started all 12 games thus far this season, so this appears to just be a regular day off for the 33-year-old. Kris Negron will fill in at second base, batting eighth in the order in his stead.

Phillips (head) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs. Phillips left Tuesday after feeling light-headed, the result of Starlin Castro falling on him on a tag play. But he checked out clear of concussion-like symptoms, so he's back in there.

Phillips left Tuesday's game because he was feeling lightheaded after a collision with Starlin Castro. He went in headfirst to second base and collided with Castro's legs. It is not clear if there were any concussion tests performed, or how serious the issue is, but he should be considered day-to-day for now.
