Nimmo will be sidelined for a couple weeks due to a grade 1 hamstring strain, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

Nimmo's hamstring injury will likely put an abrupt end to his World Baseball Classic stint with Team Italy. Although he is only expected to miss a few weeks, there is no guarantee he'll be fully recovered prior to the start of the regular season. Prior to leaving for the WBC, Nimmo had been off to a nice start to spring training and will be hoping that he can still earn a spot on the Mets' Opening Day roster as a fifth outfielder.
