Triggs (5-2) held the Angels to a single run on three hits and three walks in six innings Wednesday, striking out four en route to a 3-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
Although he had a couple blowups in the three starts preceding this one, Triggs' season stats still look great, especially that 2.21 ERA. He isn't quite this good, no, but Triggs keeps the ball on the ground and generally limits his walks, and that's a good combination. Expect to see his K/9 rise from its current 6.86 mark, but Triggs' ERA will most likely see some regression as well -- although perhaps not all that far, as his FIP is a glorious 2.77.

Triggs (4-2) gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Tigers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old right-hander had his second-shortest outing of 2017 while also surrendering the most hits he's allowed in six starts. After a 3-0 start during which he fired 17.2 scoreless innings, Triggs has given up 11 runs (nine earned) over two of his last three trips to the mound, sandwiching those outings around seven scoreless frames versus the Astros last Saturday. He'll look to get back on track in a Wednesday home start against the Angels, which he shut out over 5.2 innings in his first start of the season on April 6.

Triggs will start Friday's game for the Athletics against the Tigers, Jordan Horrobin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is on fire, boasting a 1.84 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 22 strikeouts and six walks in 29.1 innings. Triggs faces a tough test in Detroit, though, and may experience a bit of negative regression in the near future. He'll remain a useful deep-league fantasy pitcher even if he does, though.

Triggs (4-1) allowed five hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out nine batters during Saturday's win over Houston.
EDGE Analysis
The USC product had allowed six runs to the Mariners in his previous outing, so this was an impressive bounce-back showing. Triggs' uptick in strikeouts was also a nice bonus, as he had just 13 punchouts through 22.1 innings over his first four starts of the season. Now sporting a 1.84 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 2.86 FIP, Triggs is entering matchup-proof territory. He projects to face the Tigers -- another tough opponent -- in his next start.

Triggs said he didn't have the same feel for his cutter Sunday as he did in his first three starts, Joe Stiglich of NBC Sports California reports.
EDGE Analysis
The regression monster came for Triggs on Sunday -- the M's touched him up for six runs on five hits over 4.2 innings. He issued a bases-loaded walk and later served up a grand slam to Taylor Motter in the top of the third inning. Triggs hadn't allowed a run in his first three starts of the season (17.2 innings), with heavy usage of the cutter being an important part of that success. He will face another tough test next week in a road matchup against the Astros.

Triggs (3-0) gave up a pair of unearned runs on three hits while striking out five over six innings in Tuesday's win over Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Three starts into the season, Triggs is sitting on a 0.00 ERA (and a 0.85 WHIP), as all three runs off him have been unearned. However, he also posted just a 4:4 K:BB in his first two starts, so this hasn't exactly been a dominant run. Nonetheless, Triggs does a good job at keeping the ball on the ground, generates some whiffs and generally doesn't issue too many walks, so he should remain a credible fantasy starter even if these elite stats are a mirage.

Triggs (2-0) tossed six shutout innings Wednesday, scattering four hits and a walk while striking out three, in an 8-3 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old righty is off to a flying start to 2017 and has yet to give up an earned run through his first 11.2 innings, but Triggs' 4:4 K:BB suggests his luck won't hold for too much longer. His next trip to the mound will come Monday at home against the Rangers.

Triggs (1-0) gave up just an unearned run on four hits and three walks while striking out one in 5.2 innings during Thursday's 5-1 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
He was far from sharp, throwing only 50 of 91 pitches for strikes, but Triggs kept the Angels from cashing in their opportunities and got more than enough run support to notch the win. The 28-year-old has shown better strikeout potential than this over the last couple of seasons in both the minors and majors, albeit primarily in a relief role, but given his limited resume Triggs still has a lot to prove as a fantasy asset headed into his second start of the year Wednesday in Kansas City.

Triggs surrendered four earned runs on six hits and a walk over 3.2 innings in Saturday's 6-3 exhibition loss to the Giants. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Oakland's projected No. 4 pitcher to open the season wrapped up spring with yet another rough outing, giving up all of his runs on a grand slam by the Giants' Nick Hundley in the fourth. Triggs surrendered 20 earned runs over his last four trips to the mound this spring and only reached the fifth inning once over five starts. He'll look to bounce back in his first scheduled start of the season versus the Angels on Thursday.

Triggs surrendered eight earned runs on eight hits, two walks and a wild pitch over 3.2 innings in Monday's 10-3 Cactus League loss to the Royals. He struck out four but also gave up three home runs.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs was taken deep by Mike Moustakas, Paulo Orlando and Brandon Moss, struggling with his fastball command while also focusing on his changeup, which led to most of his troubles. The projected No. 4 starter for the time being while Sonny Gray's lat injury moves everyone up a notch in the rotation, the right-hander has one more tuneup start scheduled before his regular season debut on April 6. "I think it was a combination of two things," Triggs said. "We went to the well quite a bit working on the changeup, which is something you do as spring is coming to a close. I wanted to get a better feel for that. And, two, you're naturally going to put yourself into less-than-ideal counts if you're working on what's clearly your fourth pitch, and you need fastball command to balance yourself out, and that was mediocre at best, so it was kind of the perfect storm of those two things."
