Triggs (1-0) gave up six runs on five hits and two walks and did not record a strikeout in 1.1 innings. He did not factor into the decision of Wednesday's win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs got absolutely shelled Wednesday and left the game trailing 6-1, but his offense picked him up as the A's emerged with a 12-11 victory in 14 innings. The righty threw first-pitch strikes to nine of the 12 batters he faced, but he lost the plate after that point as he ended up throwing nearly as many balls as strikes (22 and 23, respectively). The 29-year-old hadn't allowed more than two runs in any of his first three starts, so he'll look to regain that form when he next takes the hill Tuesday against the Rangers.

Triggs (1-0) settled for a no-decision in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Mariners, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was briefly in line for the win when the A's took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning, but their bullpen melted down in the seventh. Triggs threw 61 of 93 pitches for strikes, and he'll carry a sharp 2.87 ERA into his next outing Wednesday at home against the White Sox.

Triggs (1-0) tallied his first win of the season after allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in 5.2 frames. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs faced relatively little resistance all evening, as only Justin Upton's two-run homer blemished his pitching line. The right-hander did require 96 pitches to navigate his night, but he limited the damage and forced the Angels to hit the ball on the ground much of the time (7:1 groundball:flyball). The 29-year-old now holds a 2.53 ERA and a 13:4 K:BB in two starts, figures he'll look to improve further in his next start against Seattle on Friday.

Triggs allowed one run on four hits and two walks across five innings en route to a no-decision Monday against the Rangers. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs limited baserunners to great effect for much of the night and was only scored upon as the Ranger strung a couple of base hits together in the fifth inning. He also had his strikeout pitch working, recording 13 swinging strikes as he tied his second best strikeout total at the MLB level. Triggs has been nothing to write home about over his first two seasons with the A's, but his 2018 campaign is off to a strong start heading into Saturday's outing against the Angels.

Triggs (2-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits over 5.1 innings in Thursday's 4-2 Cactus League loss to the Rockies. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The main blemish on an otherwise solid effort was the pair of solo round trippers that Triggs surrendered to Charlie Blackmon and Chris Iannetta in the first and fifth innings, respectively. The right-hander was largely effective otherwise against a Rockies lineup loaded with regulars, and he was able to log a spring-high amount of innings in anticipation of his role as the projected No. 4 starter.

Triggs, who notched his second Cactus League victory in an 8-3 split-squad win over the Giants on Saturday, is a strong candidate to open the season in the starting rotation, Susan Slusser of SFGate.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old's candidacy for a rotation role remains strong despite an uneven outing against San Francisco, one in which he allowed two earned runs on two hits, three walks and a hit batsman over 3.2 innings while recording four strikeouts. In the wake of Jharel Cotton's season-ending elbow injury and prospect A.J. Puk's reassignment to the minors, Triggs is in an even better position, but his ability to work as both a starter and long reliever were already giving him a leg up prior to that pair of developments. Even if Puk is promoted in relatively short order once the season commences, Triggs' versatility would allow him to slide into the bullpen role he's filled in exactly half of his 36 appearances with the Athletics across the last two seasons.

Triggs (hip) appears to be at full health heading into spring camp following season-ending surgery in July of 2017, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Triggs needed a procedure to repair a torn labrum, which caused him to make just 12 starts during the 2017 campaign. In those games, he posted a 4.27 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with a 50:19 K:BB over 65.1 innings. He will look to secure one of the three open spots in the club's rotation, while Sean Manaea and Kendall Graveman are the only two pitchers that seem to have a job locked down.

Triggs (hip) was able to walk without the aid of crutches Monday for the first time since season-ending surgery, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander underwent the procedure to repair a torn labrum on his left hip July 13 and has apparently been recovering very well overall. The fact that he ditched his crutches just over a month after surgery is certainly encouraging and another step towards him adhering to the projected timeline of a spring 2018 return to the mound.

Triggs underwent left hip surgery to repair a torn labrum Thursday and will miss the rest of the season, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Surgery had been a possibility for Triggs since he was diagnosed with structural damage back in June and finally decided to undergo the procedure after further medical evaluation. The right-hander put together a productive start to the 2017 campaign, posting a 2.64 ERA over 10 starts, but faltered over his next two outings before he was shut down. He'll begin the long road to recovery this offseason with the hopes of returning to the mound sometime before spring training of 2018.

Triggs (hip) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Marcus Semien was activated from the disabled list Thursday, meaning that a 40-man roster spot needed to be cleared to allow him to come back. Triggs was the easy choice, as he still seems to be several weeks away from getting his throwing program ramped up enough to sniff regular action again. No word has come forth yet on whether or not his injury will require surgery, either, but more information on that front should come forth as he attempts to rehab the issue in the next week or so.
