Andre Ethier tripled in three at-bats in Monday's loss to the Indians.
He has hit safely in eight of 10 spring games and is hitting .455/.500/1.045. The big question this season will be whether his power stroke returns, as he smacked only 11 four-baggers in 2011 after averaging nearly 25 in each of the previous three years.

Andre Ethier (back) is in the Dodgers' lineup Monday.
Ethier was a late scratch from Saturday's Cactus League game vs. the Mariners due to back stiffness. But it was never a major concern, and should not affect his ability to get properly prepared for the start of the regular season whatsoever. He'll be in right field on Opening Day.

Andre Ethier's agent, Nez Balelo, said his client would be willing to discuss a contract extension during the season.
"If new ownership approaches us, we have interest in exploring an extension," Balelo said. "He's always expressed his interest in staying in Los Angeles. That hasn't changed." Ethier, who will turn 31 in April, will earn $10.95 million in 2012 before becoming a free agent next winter. He'll be trying to bounce back from a disappointing 2011 season that saw him homer just 11 times. He's also coming off arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, an injury that most feel sapped him of his power.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti told FOX Sports West that he has discussed a contract extension with Andre Ethier.
Colletti acknowledged that he has had a few discussions with Ethier, including a visit to the outfielder's house this offseason. The 29-year-old, who will be a free agent after following the season, avoided arbitration with the Dodgers last month by agreeing to a one-year, $10.95 million contract.

The Dodgers and OF Andre Ethier avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $10.95 million contract.
The deal also carries some performance-based incentives. Ethier's production fell off a cliff in 2011 due to a knee injury which required surgery, but the 29-year-old has enough talent to bounce back with a strong 2012. He earned a $9.25 million salary last year while batting .292/.368/.421 with 11 homers and 62 RBI.

Andre Ethier underwent season-ending arthroscopic surgery Wednesday on his right knee.
The 35-minute procedure was designed to clean up the wear and tear behind Ethier's right kneecap, and it did that successfully. Now it's on to the rehab and recovery process. Ethier, 29, batted .292/.368/.421 with 11 home runs and 62 RBI in 135 games this season for Los Angeles.

Andre Ethier will receive a third opinion from Dr. J. Richard Steadman before undergoing surgery to clean up his long-ailing right knee.
Dr. James Andrews recently concurred with Dodgers team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache that Ethier needs surgery, but Dr. Steadman will review the results of the outfielder's MRI before the procedure is performed. Assuming the surgery is eventually performed, Ethier will require two months of rehab.

Per beat writer Dylan Hernandez, Andre Ethier (knee) will undergo surgery before the end of the season and face approximately eight weeks of rehab.
He finishes the year with a .292/.368/.421 batting line to go along with 11 homers, 62 RBI and a .789 OPS over 551 plate appearances. The Dodgers could shop him over the offseason when he proves healthy from surgery. As for the remainder of this season, Juan Rivera, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Jerry Sands will see plenty of time in Ethier's place.
