Andre Ethier (toe) is not in Saturday's lineup for the second straight day. Ethier is dealing with with an infected big toe. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly was fully expecting his outfielder to be ready to play Saturday, so we've got to think the chances are good that he'll be available Sunday.

Andre Ethier is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup Friday night against the Rockies. We haven't heard anything about an injury, so he is likely just getting the day off. Juan Rivera will make the start in right field Friday while James Loney is back at first base.

According to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman, Andre Ethier is "said by several sources around the (Dodgers) to be unhappy with what's going on with the last-place team." Set to become a free agent after the 2012 season, Ethier has reportedly "imagined his next stop could be the Boston Red Sox." It would make perfect sense for Ethier to be unhappy with the chaos in Los Angeles, but with a new owner set to take over sooner rather than later, there's still plenty of time for him to eventually end up signing an extension with the Dodgers.

Andre Ethier has been chosen to take Shane Victorino's place on the National League All-Star team after Victorino was placed on the disabled list with a thumb injury on Friday. The All-Star selection is Ethier's second, with the other coming last season. The real story, however, is National League manager Bruce Bochy, who made the selection, again overlooking Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, who as the owner of an. 879 OPS was widely viewed as the biggest All-Star snub last Sunday.

Andre Ethier is not in Tuesday's lineup because of a migraine he had Monday and a fever Tuesday. A migraine can be something that could linger, but Ethier might be available to pinch-hit Tuesday, so it sounds like this won't be a long-term issue. Consider him day-to-day.
