Andre Ethier went 3-for-4 with a double and his 44th RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers. Ethier doubled home Matt Kemp in the first. The bad news is, Kemp pulled up lame on the play, meaning Ethier could have considerably fewer RBI opportunities for at least the next 15 days. Ethier is batting a sizzling .333/.390/.585 through Los Angeles' first 50 games.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti has been in contact with Andre Ethier's agents about a possible contract extension. Jim Bowden of ESPN and MLB Network Radio expects an extension to cover four or five years and cost between $14-$15 million annually. An impending free agent, Ethier is doing a nice job of forcing his employers into action, batting a blistering .284/.326/.568 on the season.

Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Nationals. Ethier now has five homers on the season while his 25 RBI leads the majors. He didn't drive in his 25th run last year until May 30. The 30-year-old is no stranger to hot starts, but he could be poised for a huge free agent deal if he can keep it going.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Monday that he wants to explore the possibility of signing Andre Ethier to a contract extension soon after the new ownership takes over next week. "I've always been inclined to keep him," said Colletti. "His start certainly hasn't hurt." Nez Balelo, Ethier's agent, has said his client would be open to negotiating with the team's new owners during the season. The impending free agent is batting .308/.357/.600 over his first 70 plate appearances this season and is tied with teammate Matt Kemp for the major-league lead with 22 RBI.

Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Dodgers loss to the Brewers on Tuesday. As impressive as teammate Matt Kemp has been in the early part of the season, Andre Ethier deserves a ton of credit in his own right. His two RBI on Tuesday give him 17 on the season, placing him one ahead of Kemp for the National League lead. Let's hope it's not the typical first-half mirage for Ethier.

Andre Ethier knocked in four of the Dodgers' six runs with a double and a triple Friday. Not much of a surprise after he pounded out 15 extra-base hits in 52 at-bats during the spring. Ethier is on quite a roll, and his owners should enjoy it for however long it lasts.

Andre Ethier homered, doubled and drove in all four of the Dodgers' runs in Friday's loss to the Brewers. Impressively, the double was Ethier's ninth of the spring, while the home run was his third. The two-hit day bring's Ethier's spring line to a cool .400/.440/.933. He's a prime bounce-back candidate coming off a 2011 that saw him hit .292/.368/.421, but launch just 11 home runs.
