Andre Ethier is dealing with some tightness in his right hamstring. The good news is that Ethier plans to work out Wednesday and return to the lineup Thursday. He's batting .333/.412/.622 with one homer this spring.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly announced Friday that Andre Ethier will move up to the fifth spot in the lineup while Hanley Ramirez is sidelined with his injured thumb. It's a small boost to Ethier's fantasy value, as he should have plenty of RBI chances hitting directly behind Matt Kemp and Adrian Gonzalez. Despite his struggles against left-handed pitching, Ethier has proven to be a a very consistent performer, and should have no problem netting 20 homers and 85 RBI as long as he stays on the field.

Though he will sometimes give Andre Ethier the day off against left-handers he has trouble against, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he's "definitely not going to platoon him." Ethier is a career .238/.296/.352 hitter against left-handed pitching, but Mattingly is committed to playing his $85 million outfielder every day. Of course, it helps the outfielder's cause that the Dodgers don't really have any good options as potential platoon partners.

Andre Ethier was scratched from Friday's Cactus League lineup due to a recurring hand blister. It's no big deal, as Ethier is expected to be back in there Saturday. He'll be the Dodgers' everyday right fielder again in 2013.

According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports, the Mariners were recently in touch with the Dodgers about a possible trade for Andre Ethier. Talks failed to progress, so there will be no deal. Rosenthal and Morosi were told that one other AL team inquired about Ethier, but the identity of the club isn't known. On a potentially related note, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported Thursday afternoon that the Red Sox were told at the start of the winter that Either was "unavailable."

According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Red Sox inquired about Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier at the start of the winter and were told he was "unavailable." It's basically a confirmation of Ken Rosenthal's report earlier this week that the Dodgers have "zero intention" of trading the right fielder. Ethier will open the 2013 season in Los Angeles and should remain a decent second or third outfielder in mixed fantasy leagues.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Dodgers have "zero intention" of trading Andre Ethier. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman confirms that the Dodgers aren't shopping Ethier and haven't received any offers. However, Rosenthal notes that two American League teams have expressed interest, and GM Ned Colletti likely wouldn't be opposed to moving him in the right deal. Ethier has $85 million remaining on his five-year contract extension and is signed through 2018.

Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports that the Dodgers are shopping Andre Ethier. The Dodgers have denied trying to trade Ethier this offseason, but it remains possible he could be moved if any team is willing to take on his massive contract. Feinsand speculates that if Ethier is dealt, the Dodgers could be in the mix for Nick Swisher, who's scheduled to make multiple free agent visits this week.

Dodgers GM Ned Colletti confirmed Monday that he has no intention of trading outfielder Andre Ethier. "I haven't called any team about Ethier," said the general manager, "and no team has called me about him." Ethier has posted a pedestrian .801 OPS since the start of the 2011 campaign and is owed a whopping $85 million between 2013 and 2018. He turns 31 years old in April.

According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers do not have Andre Ethier on the trading block. With all of the rumors about their potential interest in Torii Hunter, it has been speculated that Ethier would be the odd man out in Los Angeles. The Dodgers maintain, however, that Ethier -- who just inked a five-year $85 million extension in June -- isn't going anywhere.
