The Los Angeles Times expects Andre Ethier (calf) to return to the Dodgers' lineup Friday. Ethier has missed nine games after he was hit by a pitch last week. He had to be sent for additional tests Tuesday to rule out further damage, but should avoid the disabled list and continue to be listed as day-to-day.

Andre Ethier was scratched from the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday due to left calf tightness. It doesn't appear to be more than a day-to-day issue. Skip Schumaker is taking Ethier's spot in center field.

Andre Ethier is out of Friday's lineup against the Rays. Ethier is sitting against southpaw David Price. Yasiel Puig will make the start in center field while Skip Schumaker plays right.

Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 against the Yankees on Wednesday. Rumors of Ethier's demise were greatly exaggerated. The veteran outfielder hit .244 in April, .250 in May, .261 in June and went 29-for-93 in July for a .312 average. Ethier's starting role is solidified until Matt Kemp returns from the disabled list, but he might struggle to find at-bats when Los Angeles returns to full strength.

Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Dodgers' 10-9 comeback win against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Ethier's solo home run in the eighth inning turned out to be the game-winning run, as the Dodgers held on to win a slugfest. Despite seemingly being the fourth outfielder in Los Angeles, Ethier has been finding his way into games and has responded of late, as he was hitting .323/.405/.452 in 62 July at-bats coming into the game. With the Dodgers now in first place it seems likely he'll stick around, most likely in some sort of platoon or reserve role once Matt Kemp is healthy.

Andre Ethier led off the ninth inning on Friday with a solo homer off Rafael Soriano, propelling the Dodgers to a 3-2 victory over the Nationals. Ethier finished the night 1-for-3 and also walked. The veteran outfielder has really picked his game up in the month of July, hitting .360 (18-for-50) with a homer and five RBI. With Matt Kemp's impending return to the lineup though, it remains to be seen how playing time will be divided in the Dodger outfield.

Andre Ethier went 3-for-5 with an RBI double against the Rockies on Monday. Ethier no longer has to worry about losing playing time with Matt Kemp on the DL. He hasn't homered in almost a month and he just five long balls all season, but he is 12-for-28 with four walks so far in July.

Andre Ethier (knee) is not in the Dodgers' lineup Friday. Ethier is dealing with knee soreness, but it's only a minor concern. Skip Schumaker is starting in center field Friday against the Padres.

Andre Ethier went 1-for-4 against Arizona in his return to action Monday. Ethier sat out Sunday after fouling a ball off his foot Saturday night against the Braves. The 31-year-old outfielder is batting just .229/.315/.346 on the season. With Yasiel Puig established as LA's newest star and Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford rehabbing injuries on the disabled list, Ethier's days as a starting outfielder in Chavez Ravine could be numbered. Ethier is in the second year of a five-year, $85 million extension.
