According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Red Sox inquired about Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier at the start of the winter and were told he was "unavailable."
It's basically a confirmation of Ken Rosenthal's report earlier this week that the Dodgers have "zero intention" of trading the right fielder. Ethier will open the 2013 season in Los Angeles and should remain a decent second or third outfielder in mixed fantasy leagues.
