Jones is dealing with ankle and hip soreness, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joey Rickard will take over in center field Saturday with Jones getting a day off to rest his nagging injuries. Jones dealt with a sore hip during the Orioles' series in Kansas City earlier in the month and he's been dealing with the ankle issue since last week's series against the Tigers. There's no indication at this time that Jones will require a stint on the DL, so look for him to rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

Jones is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter will give Jones a breather Saturday, marking his first off-day since May 14. Jones' bat has gone cold this week, going 1-for-16 with five strikeouts. Joey Rickard will take over in center and bat leadoff in Jones' stead Saturday.

Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored during Thursday's loss to Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The home run was the sixth of the year for the outfielder and upped Jones' slash line to .273/.320/.416. His 19 runs and 17 RBI are also decent totals at this stage of the season. However, Jones' lack of extra-base pop is starting to limit his fantasy upside. After hitting just 19 doubles last year, he's only recorded five through the first 38 games of 2017. Jones has also stole just six bases dating back to the 2015 season.

Jones (hip) will return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Tigers, batting second and playing center field.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday's absence seemed more like a way to get Jones a couple of days off to rest his ailing hip, and the extra off day appears to have done the trick. He'll resume his normal position in Baltimore's order right in front of Manny Machado while looking to get out of the 7-for-35 funk he was in at the plate prior to the injury.

Jones will sit out Sunday's game against the Royals due to a sore hip, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter seemed to downplay Jones' injury, as the Orioles are likely just holding the outfielder out of the lineup Sunday as a means of giving him two full days of rest with Baltimore off the schedule Monday. Jones has been in a funk at the plate lately anyway with a 7-for-35 showing over his past eight games, so the time off could prove beneficial. Joey Rickard replaces Jones in center field Sunday.

Jones was ejected in the fifth inning of Wednesday's contest in Boston after arguing a called third strike by home plate umpire Sam Holbrook.
EDGE Analysis
Tempers continued to flare in Boston on Wednesday. Orioles' starter Kevin Gausman was tossed in the second inning by Holbrook after hitting Xander Bogaerts with a hanging breaking ball before Jones was sent packing in the fifth. For both players, it was the first ejection of their careers. Jones went to the clubhouse having gone 0-for-3 on the night, dropping his average to .276 through 105 at-bats.

Jones finished up April with a rock solid .309/.369/.479 slash line over 94 at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
Jones' batting average, OBP and slugging percentage are all in the top-5 among MLB center fielders through the season's first month. One could argue that the veteran is the beneficiary of a fortunate .324 BABIP, but it's also conceivable that Jones has earned that mark. The 31-year-old has shown improved plate discipline in the early going, posting a career best walk and strikeout rates. It's more than possible for Jones to paint future months with similar numbers if he continues to be patient at the dish.

Jones went 3-for-3 with a two-run blast and one walk in Tuesday's come-from-behind victory over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The outfielder's two-run shot, his fourth of the year, in the seventh inning off Chris Archer capped the comeback and put the O's ahead for good. Jones, who entered the contest just 4-for-32 with no extra-base hits against Archer, also doubled off the Rays' ace in the fourth inning as part of his perfect night at the plate. Though the 31-year-old's batting average sits at .250, Jones has been a constant producer early in the 2017 campaign. He's hit safely in 16 of 18 games this year -- currently riding a modest seven-game streak -- and has scored a run in five straight contests.

Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in a loss against the Reds on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
For a guy who consistently hits close to 30 homers every season, Jones got little love in this year's drafts, but he's off to a solid start with three homers and a .277 average in 12 games. The veteran center fielder looks like he's set for another typical campaign by his standards while hitting in a power-packed Baltimore lineup.

Jones went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old has two hits through the first two games of the season, and both have gone for extra bases. Jones has been a rock-solid power source for the O's, recording at least 25 homers and 80 RBI in six straight seasons, and he's off to a good start in his quest to make it seven straight.
