Manager Buck Showalter indicated Wednesday that he expects Jones to rejoin the lineup Friday against the Yankees, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones was considered a candidate to play Wednesday but was not a member of the starting lineup. His hamstring appears to be doing well and he should retake his spot in center field and atop Baltimore's order as the open a series against the division rival Yankees, with the newly-acquired Michael Bourn available should Jones not be ready to go.

Jones (hamstring) may be available to play Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has been out since Aug. 26 dealing with a hamstring issue, but the Orioles' center fielder seems very close to returning. The club has been very cautious with Jones, so it's likely that they'll give him the night off and continue working towards their goal of having him back Friday. However, knowing that he'd be available to play is promising nonetheless.

EDGE Analysis

Fortunately, it appears that Jones won't need a stint on the disabled list, as the club said that they're having him sit out to avoid losing him for an extended period of time. Until further notice, consider him day-to-day heading into Wednesday's series finale against the Blue Jays.

EDGE Analysis
He was replaced in center field by Nolan Reimold in the second inning after grounding out in his lone at-bat. The severity of the strain is uncertain, but with rosters set to expand in less than a week, it will be easier for Baltimore to hold off on a DL move.
