Jones will sit out Sunday's game against the Royals due to a sore hip, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter seemed to downplay Jones' injury, as the Orioles are likely just holding the outfielder out of the lineup Sunday as a means of giving him two full days of rest with Baltimore off the schedule Monday. Jones has been in a funk at the plate lately anyway with a 7-for-35 showing over his past eight games, so the time off could prove beneficial. Joey Rickard replaces Jones in center field Sunday.
