Hamonic (knee) seems likely to play Thursday as the Islanders open up the playoffs in Florida, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

This is nothing short of great news for the Islanders who didn't have Hamonic in their opening round loss to the Capitals last season. He is arguably their best defender. Hamonic has skated with the team all week and unless he were to wake up Wednesday with unusual soreness or swelling in that knee, he should be good to go Game 1 on Thursday.
