Tomas Kaberle just wants to play his game this season.
The smooth skating defender was criticized after joining the Boston Bruins last year, but he is looking forward to getting a fresh start in Carolina. "It was an adjustment (in Boston)," Kaberle said. "I played different minutes than I had played in Toronto. I said I don't care, I'll do my best and see what happens. I will prepare for this season like always. I'm not at the end of my career. I just want to play my hockey. I just want to play my hockey style and that's why they signed me here." He should figure prominently on the Hurricanes power play in 2011-12 as a set-up quarterback.

Tomas Kaberle said that the Boston Bruins did make him an offer before he ultimately signed with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Kaberle didn't go into details about the Bruins' offer, but he called it "a little bit different" than Carolina's three-year/$12.75 million proposal. There was a couple of reasons why Kaberle decided to sign with the Hurricanes. For one, his brother, Frantisek Kaberle played with Carolina and was happy there. In addition to that, Kaberle has been reunited with former Leafs coach Paul Maurice, who Kaberle has a "good relationship" with. Look for him to record 40-50 points next season.

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed Tomas Kaberle to a three-year/$12.75 million contract.
In the context of the contracts that have been handed out over the last week, this is a pretty good signing for the Hurricanes. Kaberle is one of the league's top offensive defenseman and he should record 40-50 points in each of his next three seasons. It should also go without saying that he'll get plenty of power-play ice time with Carolina.

After two days of free agency have seen a number of defensemen sign contracts, Tomas Kaberle still hasn't ruled out a return to the Bruins.
Kaberle is undoubtedly fiedling offers from a number of teams and with the high price being paid for top blueliners he could be receiving some lucrative offers, however the Bruins remain interested. He's one of the top free agents left to sign on the dotted line.

The Bruins are still talking contract with Tomas Kaberle.
However, the puck-moving rearguard is free to talk to other teams as well and still seems likely to move on from Boston. If the Bruins are not successful in luring Kaberle back to Beantown, look for Boston GM Peter Chiarelli to add another mobile defenseman to his blueline corps. Ian White and Bryan McCabe may be possibilities.

Tomas Kaberle is not expected to sign with the Boston Bruins before the free agency period begins.
Kaberle has to be pleased to see blueliners Christian Ehrhoff, Kevin Bieksa, and Andrei Markov all sign before they became unrestricted free agents. As a result, Kaberle will be one of the few proven offensive defensemen on the market. He's recorded at least 47 points in five of his last six seasons and he should end up signing a massive contract as an unrestricted free agent.

The Boston Bruins are reportedly fielding offers for the negotiation rights to Tomas Kaberle.
He still could be back with the team after July 1, but it appears to be likely that he will sign somewhere else. Kaberle didn't work out very well in Boston, as the power play struggled with him on board and he ended up being relegated to the third defense pairing, while seeing limited ice time, during the playoffs.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli hasn't decided if he wants to make a serious offer to Tomas Kaberle.
Kaberle is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, so the Bruins are running out of time. The Bruins acquired Kaberle from Toronto to give a boost to their power play, but Boston still struggled with the man advantage for most of the playoffs. Kaberle became the focus of a lot of criticism, but the Bruins stuck with him and he did get somewhat better as the playoffs went on. We'll keep you posted.

Despite all the media criticism directed towards Tomas Kaberle during the playoffs, he might end up being re-signed.
Kaberle is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Bruins won the Stanley Cup with him, but that doesn't necessarily mean they won it because of him. Although the blame doesn't solely lie with Kaberle, the Bruins' power play was abysmal for most of the playoffs and Kaberle was primarily brought in to help with that. However, that doesn't mean he's incapable of helping the Bruins and he did improve as the playoffs went on. The Bruins could use a puck-moving defenseman, which is why they traded for him in the first place. Boston might end up inking him to an extension to fulfill that need.
