Tomas Kaberle has reportedly been told by the Montreal Canadiens that he will be bought out.
Kaberle was expected to be let go by the Canadiens after he appeared in just 10 games during the lockout-shortened season. He has one year and $4.5 million left on his current contract.

Tomas Kaberle will not be sent down to the AHL if he's not claimed on waivers, according to RDS' Renaud Lavoie.
We'll know Sunday, but the chances of him being claimed are miniscule as he's still owed a pro-rated $4.25 million this year and the same amount next season. He's a prime buyout candidate once the season ends.

Tomas Kaberle has been waived by the Montreal Canadiens.
Kaberle's cap hit is $4,250,000 through the 2013-14 campaign, so there's no way that he gets claimed. Maybe the Canadiens can trade him under the right circumstances - for example, if they take back a bad contract - but he's more likely to be bought out after the season's over. Kaberle has no fantasy value.

Tomas Kaberle will spend Thursday's game in the press box.
Kaberle has three points in just 10 games this season. This isn't the first time he's been a healthy scratch and probably won't be the last time. Consequently, it wouldn't be surprising if Montreal buys out the final campaign of his three-year/$12.75 million contract over the summer.

Tomas Kaberle was a healthy scratch in the Canadiens' 6-0 loss to the Leafs Saturday night.
The defenseman, who carries a $4.25 million cap hit, will probably be one of Montreal's compliance buyouts next offseason. In the meantime, he shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar, especially with the recent P.K. Subban signing.

The signing of P.K. Subban probably won't be good news for Tomas Kaberle.
Kaberle has no points and four shots in three games this season and the strong play of Raphael Diaz may keep him out of the team's top-six group. The Canadiens also have Andrei Markov, Alexei Emelin and Josh Gorges and Francis Bouillon in the fold. Kaberle is currently day-to-day with a facial injury, but his lineup spot appears to be in jeopardy.

The Canadiens are listing Tomas Kaberle as day-to-day after he was struck in the face by a puck on Saturday at practice.
It was originally reported that Kaberle was a healthy scratch for Sunday's game. He has no points and four shots in three games so far this year.

The Montreal Canadiens decided to make Tomas Kaberle a healthy scratch.
The often-critiqued defenseman seemed like an interesting dark horse candidate for a sneaky-good year this season, considering his productive past. That's especially true with P.K. Subban holding out. Yet Kaberle hasn't done anything with that opportunity, failing to score a point in three uneven games this season.

Tomas Kaberle isn't worried about potentially being bought out by the Canadiens.
The defenseman, who carries a $4.25 million cap hit, has a shortened season to prove himself or he could be one of Montreal's compliance buyouts next offseason. Kaberle played 10 games in the Czech league, and he comes into Habs training camp leaner as well. "Anybody can be bought out, but I don't worry about things I can't control," he said. "I just want to play my game, move the puck forward and help this team make the playoffs." He had 22 points with Montreal in 43 games last season.
