Wilson has been fined $2,403.67 after kneeing the Penguins' Conor Sheary in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The hit was delivered early in the third period and temporarily knocked Sheary out of the game. Wilson plays on the edge and occasionally goes over, his hit on Sheary being a perfect example. The fact that Sheary didn't suffer a serious injury is likely the reason that Wilson wasn't suspended, something the Capitals forward should be very grateful for heading into Game 2.

Wilson posted an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson made a quick feed to Mike Richards off a bad turnover along the boards to give Washington the first goal of the game. Moved down to the fourth line, the 21-year-old winger is still struggling to find a consistent role on the team even though he's logging more ice time this season. His contributions in peripheral stats like hits and blocked shots give him value in deeper formats, but he hasn't emerged as a valuable contributor in standard leagues as of yet.

Wilson had an assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson also picked up a minor penalty and three hits. The helper marks his first point in the last five games giving him five goals and 19 points in 58 games. While this is a career-high, his greatest value lies in deeper leagues that count hits and penalty minutes, as Wilson is second in the league in the latter with 126 on the season.

As expected, Wilson (lower body) participated in line rushes during pregame warmups, indicating he will play Thursday against the Canucks, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson left Tuesday's practice early for precautionary reasons, and was never in serious danger of missing Thursday's contest. The 21-year-old winger has tallied 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 42 games this season.

Wilson left practice early with a lower-body injury, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson's departure was described as precautionary. With the Capitals off until Thursday, when they matchup against the Canucks, it is possible that the 21-year-old will not miss any time. Overall, the winger has tallied 14 points this season in 42 contests.

Wilson netted a goal and was a plus-2 in Sunday's 7-1 win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
The goal is Wilson's first since Dec. 3 and only his third of the season. Despite fairly low totals, Wilson has been better offensively of late with three points in his last five games, and is on pace to have a career-year in 2015-16 in terms of points to go along with excellent contributions to peripheral stats like PIM's and hits. He continues to hold value in deeper leagues.

Wilson set up two goals Saturday, but the Capitals lost to the Blue Jackets via the shootout, 5-4.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson's awareness on the ice has led to five helpers in the last five games. With the Capitals chock full of offensive talent in the top-six group, Wilson has to settle in on the lower lines but that only makes him an unsuspecting weapon for opponents. He's a no-frills fantasy option with 13 points in 38 games.

Wilson had two assists in Saturday's 3-1 over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
The power forward also received a fighting major following a brawl with Canadiens defenseman Jarred Tinordi. Though Wilson's offensive contributions have been underwhelming on the year, he does have three assists in his last three games, so perhaps his offensive game is starting to come around on a third line that has been fairly potent of late, so keep an eye on him as the season goes on.

The NHL announced Friday that it had rescinded the match penalty given to Tom Wilson in the third period of Wednesday's 2-1 over Ottawa, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
The NHL's decision doesn't come as much of a shock as the hit on Senators center Curtis Lazar looked much less controversial when given more careful scrutiny. The decision by the NHL also means Wilson will not face a suspension for the incident, and so can continue to be played in deeper fantasy leagues where his particular talents make him a suitable option.

Wilson received a match penalty and was ejected from the game for his hit on Senators center Curtis Lazar in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Ottawa, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
In what has in hindsight been viewed as excessive punishment for a violent, albeit legal, hit by the power forward, Wilson received a match penalty for the body check on Lazar that occurred late in Wednesday's contest. "It was maybe a little shoulder on shoulder, but I'm a big guy. I'm 220 pounds, "Wilson remarked after the game. "If you're not expecting to run into that, then you're going to get a little bit of whiplash. It would have been a different story if I'd came in flying and finished right through him. That would have been a lot bigger of a hit, but I'm aware that he can't see me, I'm aware about all the rules and plays, I'm aware about blindside hits, and I try and just keep my arms at my side, take away his space, track the puck and create a turnover. That's all I'm trying to do." Although he does not have a point in his last four outings, Wilson has accrued 32 penalty minutes and 14 hits during that time, so remains a decent producer in deep leagues that count such peripheral statistics, but has limited value in standard formats.
