Steve Mason is penciled in to start on Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings.
Mason is riding a three-game winning streak. He has allowed just four goals in that span. The Kings have scored just 147 goals this season, but Mason could have his hands full against his former teammate, Jeff Carter.

Steve Mason has a 2.71 GAA and .921 save percentage in his past 10 games.
That's pretty good, especially when you look at his overall numbers this season. Mason might finish the season on a strong note, but we wouldn't bet on it. He's simply been too inconsistent over the past three seasons to for it to make sense for us to put our trust in him at this time.

Steve Mason kicked aside 30 shots in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 3-2 upset over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night.
Even with the win tonight, Mason is irrelevant in the fantasy world. If you still have him on your roster, it means you stopped managing your fantasy team back in November.

Steve Mason kicked aside 30 shots in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 5-2 "upset" over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old received the nod between the pipes fresh off his 33-save shutout performance against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. One would imagine Mason will get a long look from the Jackets as the season winds down, but that doesn't mean you should take the same risk in fantasy leagues right now.

Steve Mason will play between the pipes on Saturday.
Mason will try to build off of his 32-save shutout on Thursday. Mason made a tweak to his game recently, which he thinks helped him record the shutout, so it should be interesting to see what he can do for an encore.

Steve Mason said that a tweak in his game has made a big difference of late.
Mason has one of the worst records among goalies but has been at least average of late and picked up his first shutout of the season Thursday, kicking out 32 shots in a 2-0 win over Colorado. "It was just reducing my depth off the rush," Mason said of his time with goaltending coach Ian Clark. "It was something that (he) and I worked on the last couple practices. I was getting a little bit too far out and making too many extra movements. We worked on reducing my depth off the rush and just simplifying things. It paid off tonight." We shall see if Mason is able to continue.

Steve Mason posted his first shutout of the season as the Columbus Blue Jackets blanked the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night 2-0.
It only took 64 of his team's games to get it done! NIghts like this are rare for the 23-year-old, as he's only had 10 appearances all year in which he's allowed two or fewer goals. Granted, the team he plays for has been a total mess all season. He made 32 saves in the win and has has a 3.38 goals-against average, .889 save percentage and a 9-22-3 record this season.

Steve Mason will get the start in goal for Columbus Thursday.
It's been a dreadful year for the former Calder Trophy winner. He owns an 8-22-3 record with an .886 save percentage and a 3.49 goals-against average, although to be fair, he has played better of late before giving up five on Friday.
