Mason signed a two-year, $8.2 million contract with the Jets on Saturday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason has spent his nine years in the NHL between just two different franchises, but will add a third by joining the Jets in 2017-18. The 29-year-old netminder posted subpar numbers with the Flyers last season, compiling a 2.66 GAA and .908 save percentage, but it was a bit of a down year for both he and the Flyers. Winnipeg's back line was rough last season as well, as the club allowed 3.11 goals per game -- fourth worst in the NHL. Mason's addition should assist with that, but the club could still use some reinforcements along the blue line. Considering Connor Hellebuyck is a restricted free agent and Ondrej Pavelec is an unrestricted free agent, it's fairly safe to say that Mason's signing means at least one of the two won't be with the organization next season.

Mason's agent confirmed that the veteran goalie will play for a team other than the Flyers in 2017-18, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason has spent five seasons apiece in Columbus and Philadelphia, though he's gone against the grain by producing some of his best numbers as a rookie. In that 2008-09 campaign, Mason produced a 33-20-7 record to go along with a 2.29 GAA, .916 save percentage and a whopping 10 shutouts. You could say that he punched his own ticket out of Philly after watching his peripherals drop for the third straight year -- he finished with a 2.66 GAA and .908 save percentage, which likely didn't help very many fantasy owners.

Mason was left unprotected by the Flyers for the NHL expansion draft.
EDGE Analysis
Mason is an unrestricted free agent and despite indicating that he is open to returning to the Flyers, has made it clear he wants to be the top guy next year. Last season, the 29-year-old split time with Michal Neuvirth, who was also left unprotected, as the Flyers elected to keep 23-year-old Anthony Stolarz. Mason's future will certainly become less murky if Vegas selects one of the two veterans.

Mason indicated he is interested in returning to the Flyers, but he would like to be back as the clear No. 1 goalie, NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason can become an unrestricted free agent July 1. He posted a 26-21-8 record with a 2.66 GAA and .908 save percentage across 58 games, spending a majority of the season in a timeshare with Michal Neuvirth. He finished up strong, posting a 9-4-2 record with a 2.22 GAA and .922 save percentage over his final 15 appearances.

Mason made 20 saves in a 4-2 win over Columbus on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
Mason is coming to the end of the season in a finer fashion than most of the season -- he's 5-1 in his last six starts with just 11 goals allowed. Where was this earlier?

Mason will get the starting nod against the Blue Jackets on Saturday, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This could be the final start of the year for Mason as the Flyers head into a weekend back-to-back Saturday. The 28-year-old has been extremely inconsistent this season, as he went on streaks of being red hot and ice cold. For the campaign, the 28-year-old posted a 25-21-8 record, including three shutouts and a .908 save percentage. Mason could face a weakened Columbus squad Saturday as coach John Tortorella may consider resting guys heading into the postseason.

Mason stopped 26 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
He and Devils backup Keith Kinkaid carried dueling shutouts into overtime, but John Moore ended it 59 seconds into the extra frame. So ends Mason's four-game winning streak, but he's still been playing spectacularly well of late. It's unclear how the Flyers will split up their last three games, but they end with back-to-backs this weekend, so Mason won't make more than two more starts.

Mason will tend the twine for Tuesday's divisional matchup with New Jersey, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his team having already been eliminated from postseason contention, Mason's play has seen an uptick in quality in the latter stages of the campaign. Over his last 14 games, the former Calder Trophy winner is 9-4-1 with a 2.17 GAA and .926 save percentage, making a strong case for a starting job next season, be it with the Flyers or another team that is able sign him if Philadelphia lets him hit unrestricted free agency on July 1.

Mason (illness) will backup Anthony Stolarz for Sunday night's road game against the Rangers, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason missed just one game while sick, but will now back up Stolarz after Michal Neuvirth (illness) collapsed during Saturday's win over the Devils. Mason was on a four-game winning streak prior to falling ill, so he could be a good bet to start once he's given the starting nod again.

Mason (illness) will join the team in New York after missing Saturday's game, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's no guarantee that he'll play, but it seems likely that if he's good enough to suit up, he'll be good to go. He's been hot lately, notching a .934 save percentage and 1.96 GAA over his last four games.
