Mason will be in the crease for Saturday's afternoon tilt with the Bruins. It looked as though Mason might have sustained an injury in the first period of Thursday's game against the Capitals, but he ended up playing the rest of the game while leading the Flyers to victory in impressive fashion, stopping 26 of 28 shots on the evening. He dismissed the injury concern by suggesting he just "tweaked" something, so he'll be at no risk of missing any further action. Look for Tuukka Rask to pick up the start in the opposite net for Saturday's matinee.

Mason put a stop to 26 of 28 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Capitals. Hey, that's two wins in a row -- a hot streak by Mason's standards, considering that the last time he won consecutive games was in early November. The Flyers' offense still isn't really producing, so it's hard to expect Mason's winning ways to carry forward to any great degree.

Mason (general soreness) will start Thursday's game against the Capitals, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Mason was a little banged up after facing 42 shots his last start Tuesday, but any soreness he is dealing with will not prevent him from playing Thursday. Mason snapped a five-start winless streak his last time out, but he will be challenged Thursday by a surging Washington team that lost just four times in its last 15 games.

Mason (general soreness) will take part in Thursday's morning skate. Mason received an MRI Wednesday after he emerged from Tuesday's contest feeling some general soreness, and although the results haven't yet been disclosed, the new development is certainly a positive sign. If all goes well during the morning skate, there remains a chance the 26-year-old will be in the crease for Thursday's matchup against the Capitals.

Mason (soreness) will receive an MRI later Wednesday, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports. It didn't seem especially worrisome at first blush when soreness forced Mason out of Tuesday's practice, but the MRI would seem to indicate he's dealing with something more serious than believed. While he didn't say so explicitly, the goalie hinted that he hurt his back while making a save in Tuesday's win over the Senators. He previously missed time just over a week ago with a back concern, and the Flyers can only hope he didn't suffer a similar setback this time around. The MRI should offer more clarification on Mason's condition, but it's expected that Ray Emery will make the start for at least the Flyers' next game Thursday.

Mason was experiencing some body soreness after Tuesday's 41-save shootout victory and was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports. GM Ron Hextall didn't indicate whether Mason's soreness is related to his back, which sidelined him for a few games in late December. The goalie was able to skate on his own before leaving prior to practice, so it seems like the Flyers are just proceeding with some caution here. The expectation is that Mason will be ready to man the net for Thursday's showdown with the Capitals.

Mason made 41 of 42 saves through 65 minutes of play, then stopped four of five shootout attempts to go home with a 2-1 win Tuesday against Ottawa. The Flyers had lost a whopping 10 consecutive shootouts, but Mason and the team finally pulled one out. It took a superhuman effort from the 26-year-old goalie, who finally picked up a win for the first time since way back on Dec. 13.

Mason will be in goal for Tuesday's game against the Senators, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Mason has played nearly as well this year as he did last season, but the results have been starkly different: he has won just six games -- including only three since Nov. 8 -- after picking up 33 victories last season. Wednesday's game will come against an Ottawa team that went 5-3-2 over its last 10 games.

Mason stopped two of eight shots while manning the net for the final two periods of Saturday's loss to the Devils. The Flyers defense did an uncharacteristically sound job of protecting Mason, but the outcome was well decided by the time he entered the crease. He would let in two more scores to let the Devils' lead balloon to 5-0, but fortunately starter Ray Emery took the loss in this one.

Mason gave up two goals on 26 shots in Friday's loss to the Hurricanes. While Mason played well in the loss, he didn't get much offensive support, as the Flyers managed just one goal against the lowly Hurricanes. Mason has lost five straight games, but has surrendered only 12 goals in that span. The 26-year-old is now 6-12-6 on the season, with a .917 save percentage and 2.55 GAA. He remains a reliable goaltender, but wins are hard to come by on a struggling Flyers' team.
