Budaj was pulled after giving up two goals on six shots in the first period Thursday against Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Jeff Zatkoff sparkled in relief (25 saves on 26 shots) and ended up stealing a win, which might inspire the Kings to give Budaj a day off when they get back in action Sunday. Following a five-game winning streak, the veteran netminder has proceeded to allow five goals on 29 shots in a span of four periods.

EDGE Analysis
Budaj surrendered his first loss in six games Wednesday, allowing three goals on 23 shot attempts against the Sharks. Prior to that, the 34-year-old netminder was on a roll, going 5-0 with a 1.80 GAA and .929 save percentage in his previous five starts. Currently tied for second in the NHL in wins (12) this season, the Czech backstop will try to tally his 13th victory over a Coyotes' offense that ranks 25th in goals scored per game (2.33).

Budaj surrendered three goals on just 23 shots Wednesday in a 4-1 loss to San Jose. The fourth was an empty-netter.
EDGE Analysis
The Sharks got to Budaj early, blowing all three goals past him in the first period and ultimately ruining his opportunity to tie Carey Price for the NHL wins lead. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the 34-year-old, who allowed two goals or less during that span. Nonetheless, given his surprisingly solid performance this year -- that features a .915 save percentage and 2.09 GAA -- in lieu of Jonathan Quick (groin), he probably won't be turning the net over to backup Jeff Zatkoff anytime soon, except in back-to-back situations.

EDGE Analysis
Budaj has been fantastic of late, stringing together five consecutive wins while maintaining an impressive 1.80 GAA and .929 save percentage over that span. The 34-year-old backstop will look to pick up his 13th win of the season in a matchup with a hot Sharks team that has won four of their last five games.

Budaj picked up his fifth straight win Saturday, stopping 18 of 19 shots in an overtime win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj has now made 20 consecutive appearances in the Los Angeles net and advances to 12-6-1 on the season with a .917 save percentage. The veteran is playing excellent hockey for a surging Kings squad currently sitting sixth in the Western Conference standings. Given the fact Budaj has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his last five outings, he's a fairly solid bet in fantasy right now.

EDGE Analysis
Budaj is set to make his 20th consecutive appearance as the workhorse continues to dominate playing time in the Kings' net. The 34-year-old netminder is on a four-game win streak -- recording a 2.01 GAA and .925 save percentage during that time -- but will face a Blackhawks team that is tied for seventh in the NHL in goals scored (64).

Budaj is expected to start in goal Saturday night against the visiting Blackhawks, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj was first off the ice in morning skate, which is the telling sign that he'll be the starter for the evening's contest. The Czech tender has allowed exactly two goals in each of his last four starts (all wins). Barring an unforeseen switch in pregame warm-ups, expect Budaj to work between the pipes against a Blackhawks team trying to grind through a seventh consecutive road appearance.

Budaj allowed two goals on 24 shots in a 4-2 win over the visiting Islanders on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj has been crushing it this season, rattling off four straight wins while appearing in the most games of any NHL goaltender (19). It's as unlikely a storyline as any given he started the season in the AHL behind Jonathan Quick (groin) and Jeff Zatkoff, which is further colored by his terrific .916 save percentage and 2.10 GAA. Props to you if you were able to jump on the Budaj train and take advantage of his surprising success.
