Budaj stopped 28 of 30 shots in Sunday's win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
That's the third straight win for Budaj, who has been lights out for Los Angeles of late. The 34-year-old advances to 10-6-1 on the season with a .915 save percentage. while he isn't Jonathan quick, the veteran netminder has filled in admirably for the injured starter, allowing two or fewer goals in all but two of his last 10 outings. Use him well.

Budaj led his team onto the ice for warmups and so will be the starting goaltender for Sunday's game in Anaheim, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though conventional wisdom would have seen Jeff Zatkoff make the start on the second half of a back-to-back, the Kings likely don't want to rush him back after his injury and so it will be Budaj in net Sunday. The 34-year-old Czech national has looked sharp lately, stopping 49 of 53 shots in his last two starts.

Budaj made 21 saves in a 4-2 win over New Jersey on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj is 5-2-1 with two shutouts in his last eight starts and is proving to be a capable backfill for Jonathan Quick. He has his ups and downs, but hasn't allowed more than three goals in a start since Nov. 1. Budaj isn't a stud or even a star, but he's delivering enough to keep him active in most formats.

Budaj will guard the crease for Saturday's game against the Devils, Andrew Gross of the Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj's play has certainly been streaky this year as he's had various stretches of wins and losses this season. Let's hope that's a sign of things to come as the 34-year-old is coming off a win Thursday after a string of losses. He gets a New Jersey offense Saturday that scores only 2.38 goals per game and is missing star Taylor Hall (knee).

Budaj allowed two goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Both teams came in on four-game losing streaks, but Budaj outplayed Oilers backup Jonas Gustavsson to get his team off the schneid. The NHL's fourth-oldest goaltender has been a pleasant surprise with an 8-6-1 record, 2.12 GAA and .914 save percentage as the starter with Jonathan Quick (groin) out.

Budaj led his team out for pregame warm-ups Thursday, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports. meaning he'll be the home starter against the Oilers
EDGE Analysis
After a remarkable run that included a 7-3-0 record and shiny 1.92 GAA from Oct. 20 - Nov. 8, Budaj is finding wins hard to come by, and the absence of two-way tantalizer Anze Kopitar (upper body) is doing the interim No. 1 backstop absolutely no favors. Despite losing the past four games, Edmonton is working with a plus-2 goal differential and ranks two spots ahead of LA in the Pacific Division standings.

Budaj gave up three goals on 29 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Avalanche on Tuesday. The fourth was an empty-netter.
EDGE Analysis
The shine has officially worn off the career backup, who has now dropped four games in a row after rattling off three wins -- including back-to-back shutouts. He and Jeff Zatkoff (who is currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury but is nearing a return) will be manning the crease for the foreseeable future in Hockeywood with Jonathan Quick (groin) sidelined until 2017. That said, if Budaj keeps sliding, the two netminders are likely headed toward a back-and-forth timeshare until one heats up.

Budaj be between the posts for Tuesday night's road contest in Colorado, Drew Spevak of Denver Sports 760 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj gets the call again after a heartbreaking shootout loss on Sunday and will look to regain the form he displayed when he recorded two consecutive shutouts against the Flames and Maple Leafs. He'll have a good chance against a struggling Avalanche offense that is last in the league with 1.93 goals per game.

Budaj turned away 27 of 29 shots from the Jets on the road Sunday, but lost in the shootout.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj succumbed to Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele in the shootout, with the latter lifting the puck behind him blocker side to end the game. The interim No. 1 goalie dressed in silver and black has now lost three straight contests following back-to-back shutouts against the Flames and Maple Leafs, respectively. He should continue to see a heavy workload with Jeff Zatkoff (lower body) suffering a setback Friday.
