Contract talks with pending unrestricted free agent P. A. Parenteau should begin this week now that the regular season is over. "No one likes uncertainty," he said. "It's between Allan [Walsh, Parenteau's agent] and Garth [Snow, Isles general manager] and hopefully, they can figure out something that's good for both of us. I'm in a pretty good position right now and I want to keep what we're building here. It's going to be something special." Parenteau has repeatedly stated he would like to return to the Islanders and that stance hasn't changed.

P. A. Parenteau suffered a sprained right ankle during Thursday's contest. Parenteau didn't participate in the third period as a result of the injury. It remains to be seen if he'll play in the Islanders' season finale on Saturday.

P. A. Parenteau scored two goals in a 6-3 victory Saturday afternoon. Kyle Okposo netted his 21st goal of the season. Matt Moulson registered two assists, giving him 66 points in 78 games in 2011-12.

P. A. Parenteau has expressed his intention to remain with the New York Islanders and said that his agent, Allan Walsh, and GM Garth Snow are likely to begin contract talks this week. "I've said all along that I want to be here, and nothing's changed," said the pending unrestricted free agent this summer. "I love these guys and I want to be here for when we turn it around." Parenteau currently has 49 assists, which ranks him seventh in the NHL, and 65 points in 74 games. Surprisingly, he has also racked up 87 penalty minutes.
