Michael Frolik will have extra motivation for Saturday afternoon's game.
He will be facing his former team, the Blackhawks, for the first time since he was traded to Winnipeg this past June. Frolik could use a good game as he has been in a scoring slump since the season opener.

Michael Frolik hasn't scored a goal since Winnipeg's regular-season opener.
That's a stretch of 13 games that Frolik has gone goalless. He has contributed just four assists over that span. It was thought that Frolik would be able to add more offense than this, but he has slight increase in ice time hasn't helped him produce more points just yet.

Michael Frolik hasn't seen much time on Winnipeg's penalty kill despite being a key member of Chicago's special teams squad last season.
He's seen just 41 seconds per game with the Jets this year while shorthanded. Coach Claude Noel hasn't ruled out giving Frolik time on the penalty kill down the road though. "He's been a good player for us," Noel said. "If he continues to play the way he's playing five-on-five, he's going to find time to be on special teams." The Jets are currently ranked 17h overall on the penalty kill and Noel has been reluctant to change his personnel.

Michael Frolik scored the opening goal in the Jets' 3-2 preseason win over the Edmonton Oilers.
The 25 year-old Czech, acquired in a draft day trade with the defending champion Blackhawks, might get the chance to rediscover his scoring touch in Winnipeg this year. He hasn't eclipsed the 45 point total he set in his rookie season with Florida in 2009 due in large part to his depth role on Chicago. Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, however, told the media he'll probably play a different role than he did in the Windy City.

Michael Frolik, who played with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, is being pegged by the Winnipeg Jets' coaching staff to work with Matt Halischuk and Ollie Jokinen on a third line that it hopes can both check and score.
Frolik has plenty of potential upside and might be a good pick as a late-rounder for fantasy leaguers. A 45-point season wouldn't be out of the question in Winnipeg. Frolik helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup last season with three goals and nine points in 22 playoff games, a lot better than the three goals and 10 points he picked up in 45 regular season games.

Michael Frolik is a versatile addition to Winnipeg.
The former Chicago Blackhawk can play either wing and he has proven to be an excellent penalty killer. Frolik will probably be inserted onto the Jets' third line this season because fellow off-season addition Devin Setoguchi is expected to play on the second unit.

Michael Frolik is looking forward to the possibility of having an increased role with the Winnipeg Jets.
"It's a shock," said Frolik, who was just traded by Chicago at the NHL draft after winning the Stanley Cup. "But I'm excited and it's a great opportunity for me. It will be different. I can play a number of roles and I want to get ready and have a good summer and be prepared. I have a few years in the league now and have some experience. I want to help the team. It looks like a good group." Frolik served as a fourth liner and a penalty killer while with the Hawks, but he could end up playing on Winnipeg's second line depending on what happens with the team in free agency and at training camp.

Michael Frolik hasn't been completely ruled out of playing on Winnipeg's second line next season.
However, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is still in the market for a right winger to place there. "I think we'll still keep looking. That opportunity can be taken by him or we go and get someone else," said Cheveldayoff referring to Frolik. "We don't anoint where players play, they're play dictates where they'll play." Frolik is a good penalty killer who is better suited for a third or fourth line role.
