The Winnipeg Jets have acquired winger Michael Frolik from the Blackhawks in exchange for a pair of draft picks. The penalty-killing specialist was a big part of Chicago's Stanley Cup run and will be a nice depth addition to the Jets, who gave up the 74th and 134th overall selections.

Michael Frolik picked up an assist in the Blackhawks win Saturday. Frolik has three goals and nine points in 22 playoff games, a lot better than the three goals and 10 points he picked up in 45 regular season games. While many thought that Frolik could be expendable after his less than stellar regular season, he has proven his worth to the Blackhawks in the playoffs.

Chicago has allowed only four power-play goals in 63 chances in the playoffs. It's a good thing because of its problems on its own man advantage. The Blackhawks have killed off four of five power plays against the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. Coach Joel Quenneville credits his players, pointing out the work of Michael Frolik and Marcus Kruger. "I just think that duo is the thing that's been the most noticeable," Quenneville said. And Kruger and Frolik credit their ability to "read off" each other in order to know where to be.

Michael Frolik says he used a move he learned while playing in the Czech league during the lockout on Monday's game-winning penalty shot. Frolik got Jimmy Howard to go down before roofing a backhander into the top right corner of the net. It was a beautiful shot that put the Hawks up 4-2 midway through the third period. There was debate as to whether Frolik deserved the shot after Carlo Colaiacovo was whistled for a slash on the Chicago winger, who was a step or two ahead of Colaiacovo and breaking in on Howard. For his part, Colaiacovo said he was "surprised" the referees awarded Frolik the penalty shot.

Michael Frolik scored a penalty-shot goal that turned out to be the game winner in Monday's 4-3 Game 6 win. The penalty shot itself was highly questionable, but Frolik's backhanded goal was a thing of beauty. The postseason dynamo got Jimmy Howard to go down and bring his glove down before quickly changing to his backhand and roofing the puck just inside the crossbar and the right post. Frolik's score capped a three-goal period and helped the Blackhawks forced Game 7, which is scheduled for Wednesday night.

Michael Frolik and Marcus Kruger have been a big part of Chicago's penalty-killing success this year. Chicago has not surrendered a power-play goal in the playoffs. "They've been real solid all year," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "When they started at the beginning of the year it was a work in progress, and they've progressed in a real nice way. They're first and third on each kill, they're blocking shots, they're getting in lanes and play at a good pace. It's gotten them more of a role, more ice time. And that line played well all year, so a real nice fit for us." They've been something of an unlikely duo, especially seeing as Frolik wasn't known for killing penalties before coming to Chicago. All the same, they've become valuable pieces of the Blackhawks' squad.

In 13 career playoff games with the Chicago Blackhawks, right winger Michael Frolik has six goals, including two he scored Friday in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Minnesota Wild. In 138 regular-season games with the Hawks, he has 11. "I don't really know what it is," Frolik said. "I'd be happy to have it in the season, too."

Michael Frolik scored the Blackhawks' first two goals of the game in a 5-2 win Friday night. Teammate Patrick Kane almost had the night's first goal five minutes into Game 2but the referees ruled he kicked the puck into the net. Frolik scored just three goals in 45 games this season but continues to be a dangerous playoff performer. The former Florida Panthers has six goals and 10 points in 13 postseason games, all with the Blackhawks.

Michael Frolik was plus-three on Sunday. Frolik had a big week playing alongside Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad as he had two goals and two assists in the last week to go with a plus-three rating. While his three goals and eight points in 32 games this season is nothing to write home about, with Marian Hossa on the sidelines, Frolik does have some fantasy value while replacing him.

After moving to the top line on Monday, Michael Frolik responded with a two goal, one assist effort. Frolik replaced the injured Marian Hossa on the first unit, alongside Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad and picked up his first goal since the season opener on January 19. He will lose his job to Hossa upon his return but could be considered a short term fix for fantasy teams while on the first line in Hossa's absence.
