Perreault left Monday's game against the Oilers with a lower body injury, the Winnipeg Free Press reports. With Drew Stafford (upper body) also exiting the contest, Winnipeg was forced to play most of the third period with just 10 forwards. Speaking after the game, Jets coach Paul Maurice did not have an update on either player's status. Winnipeg's next game is scheduled for Thursday in Washington.

Perreault has been on fire of late, registering at least one point in each of Winnipeg's last three games while tallying five points in total over that span.Perreault now has 18 goals and 18 assists on the season, and is on pace to post career bests in both of those statistical categories. He's also notched 11 power-play points this season, and has now cemented a role on the Jets' top power-play unit. Admittedly, his surge in production has coincided with Dustin Byfuglien joining the Jets' second offensive line with Perreault and Mark Scheifele during Winnipeg's last four games. With the departure of Zach Bogosian in Tuesday's blockbuster deal with the Sabres, Byfuglien will now return to the blue line. However, it's possible that new addition Drew Stafford will take Byfuglien's place on Winnipeg's second line. Stafford is a talented veteran winger who shouldn't have any trouble slotting in and developing chemistry with Scheifele and Perreault in a timely manner.

Perreault scored his 18th goal of the season and added two assists in Sunday's win over the Avalanche.
Skating on a line with Dustin Byfuglien and Mark Scheifele, the trio combined for three goals and eight points in the win. While Perrault had been held off the scoresheet in five of his last seven outings, he now has points in back-to-back games and should build off his offensive outburst Sunday. The 27-year-old, who plays on the top power-play unit, will play a key role down the stretch as the Jets aim for the postseason.

Perreault was the only man to penetrate the Flyers' Steve Mason on Thursday, accounting for both Winnipeg goals in a 5-2 loss.
He went through a brief cooling period after his four-goal game, but Perreault showed that big outings like that are no fluke. Assuming his health holds up, he should blow by last year's career-high 43 points, and the best could be yet to come.

Perreault (upper body) will play Tuesday against the Penguins.
Thanks to the NHL All-Star break, Perreault will end up only missing two games after taking a cross-check to his upper-body area back on Jan. 16.

Perreault (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Perreault wouldn't have been cleared to play until after the All-Star break anyway, so the IR move doesn't really have any bearing in his eventual return timetable. Coach Paul Maurice said Tuesday that he believes Perreault isn't looking at a long-term absence, but he'll have to resume skating in the next few days to have a shot at suiting up for the Jets' first game out of the break.

Perreault (upper body) will not suit up in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets, according to Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun.
Perreault was unable to skate during Tuesday's practice, making it an easy call for coach Paul Maurice to keep him out through the All-Star break. Maurice acknowledged that the club doesn't believe a long-term absence is in store for Perreault, as there's a chance he could be back in the fold for the Jets' first game after the break.

Perreault (upper body) won't play Sunday against the Coyotes.
Moreover, coach Paul Maurice indicated Sunday that he doesn't expect Perreault to suit up for Wednesday's game against Columbus either, though the team is hopeful that the center -- who has 29 points in 45 games -- will be able to play after the upcoming NHL All-Star break.

Perreault appears to have avoided any fractures after taking a cross-check to the upper-body area in Friday's win over the Blackhawks, but he's still likely to miss "some games," Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
The Jets refused to comment on Lavoie's report and said that an official update on Perreault's status will be provided Sunday. With 23 points over his past 21 games, Perreault has blossomed into an asset across nearly every fantasy format, and the Jets can only hope that second-liner avoided a significant injury. If there's any silver lining, it might be that the upcoming All-Star break will give Perreault some more time to try to recuperate from the injury.
