Foligno skated on the top line at practice Monday and will remain there for Tuesday's game against Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno was promoted Saturday against Carolina when he tallied an assist, but head coach Dan Bylsma was impressed with what he saw and will leave him on a line with Ryan O'Reilly and Sam Reinhart for the foreseeable future. Foligno brings some size and physicality and bumps Evander Kane to the third line, who will skate with Johan Larsson and Brian Gionta. Foligno's point production has crept up in each of his past five seasons, and with 9 points in 30 games so far is on pace for another career-high. Consistency has always been an issue for the 25-year-old, but perhaps he's finally figured it out and playing with the very dependable O'Reilly should certainly help. Until Foligno starts producing more on offense, he has relatively little fantasy value, but this promotion is a good sign he's trending in the right direction.

Foligno scored a goal -- his second of the season -- in a 2-1 losing effort to the visiting Maple Leafs on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He also fired off four shots on goal in 17:58 of ice time, which ties his season high. Foligno is in his sixth NHL season and has fallen in the 18-23-point range in each of the last four campaigns. That said, his four points in 10 contests thus far, a pace of roughly 33 points over a full 82-game slate, bodes well for his chances of reaching a new career high in 2016-17.

Foligno will re-unite with Johan Larsson and Brian Gionta to form the Sabres' third line, the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno's lack of consistency from game to game has been maddening since becoming a full-time regular in 2012, but the 24-year-old has also managed to improve his point totals every year. Head coach Dan Bylsma found magic when he put Foligno together with Larsson at center and Gionta on the other wing, and the trio used their speed and tenacious forecheck to cause havoc. The Sabres still have a few lineup decisions to make, but the third line is already set. Foligno, who scored a career-high 10 goals last year, is an intriguing fantasy option in leagues that count hits and PIM. He's primed for a breakout season, but his offensive ceiling isn't very high and 20 goals would be a commendable feat.

Foligno signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Sabres on Thursday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno was solid in a bottom-six role with the Sabres last season, tallying 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) and 193 hits over 75 games. The 6-foot-3 winger will slot into a similar role with the Sabres in 2016-17, and should be similarly productive barring injury.

Foligno received a qualifying from the Sabres on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old winger makes most of his impact utilized his 6-foot-3, 226-pound frame to inflict damage on opponents last season, collecting 193 hits in addition to 10 goals and 13 assists. While he likely won't be counted on to rack up points, Foligno did his job in 2015-16 and the Sabres appear ready to extend him if available. However, his future fantasy value should be the greatest in leagues that include the physical aspect of the game.

Foligno scored his 10th of the season and his second in two games Wednesday against Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno now has reached a career-high in goals and tied a career-high in points with 20. It's been a long time coming for the 24-year-old, who has spent time as a healthy scratch in previous seasons due to his inconsistency. He's a very physical player who should have a lot more to offer offensively, but has never been able to quite put it together. Now on a line with center Johan Larsson and right winger Brian Gionta on most nights, Foligno seems to have found his groove. If he ever does become relevant in fantasy, it'll most likely be next year as a mid-season waiver wire pick-up if he plays well.

Foligno ended a seven-game point drought with a shorthanded goal and a pair of assists Thursday in a 6-3 win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from two out-of-nowhere nights of stardom -- this one included -- Foligno has been next to useless in most fantasy formats this year. His 133 hits represent the majority of the fantasy value he brings to the table, which isn't saying much.

Foligno was terrific Friday, potting a pair of goals and chipping in a helper in a 6-4 win over Montreal. He also skated to a plus-2 and fired four shots on goal.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno did it all in this one, with his most dramatic feat of the night coming on a game-winning penalty-shot goal late in the second period. The New York native dished out five hits in the contest, which makes his outing that much more impressive given his modest 12:43 of ice time. In 49 games this year, Foligno has six goals and eight assists.

Foligno was on the ice for practice ahead of Tuesday's game against Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno missed Saturday's game with a lower-body injury and is considered a game-time decision against the Panthers. With Zemgus Girgensons (lower body) out of the lineup Tuesday, it's expected that Foligno will play. The bottom-six grinder has 11 points in 46 games this season.

Foligno (lower body) took part in Monday's practice, and hopes to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Foligno skipped Saturday's game against the Bruins due to the lower-body injury, but participated in practice Monday as the left wing on the second line. That's certainly an encouraging sign regarding his status for Tuesday's tilt, but expect the team to release another update confirming his status at some point on gameday.
