Kyle Turris is in no rush to head to Europe.
For now, he is content with working out and skating in Ottawa. "I don't think (spots) are running out," he said. "It's up to the individual. There are lots of guys . Spezza, (Joe) Thornton, (Patrick) Marleau, a bunch of guys going over to Europe right now and lots of guys are giving it a chance. I think if this does go into October or November, then more and more guys will start heading over there."

Kyle Turris will start weighing his options when it comes to playing in Europe.
"You want to stay sharp and anytime you're off the ice for an extended duration of time, when you come back you're going to lose some of that timing and those things," Turris said. "It's definitely something I've thought about -- going over to Europe. I've talked to my fiance and it's definitely a plan to possibly do it, but it's just a matter of seeing when and where." Turris had 12 goals and 29 points in 55 contests last season. He should take a moderate step forward in 2012-13, assuming that the lockout doesn't wipe out the season.

Kyle Turris was more than happy to commit to a long-term contract with the Ottawa Senators after they took him away from a troubling situation in Phoenix.
Coyotes GM Don Maloney didn't want to give big money to an unproven player and he was hesitant to trade him for a while before finally pulling the trigger on a deal with Ottawa last December. Turris wanted the opportunity to play a larger role and he got that with the Senators as the team's second-line center. "(The trade) was huge. It was a really big breath of fresh air, a fresh start," he said. "I can't thank Ottawa enough for the opportunity and trust they had in me." The move helped him produce 12 goals and 29 points in 49 games and he should improve on those numbers this season.
