While his minus-27 rating clearly is an eyesore, that's a fleeting statistic as far as fantasy games are concerned.

The Bruins failed to trap the Sabres along the sideboards and that created space for Okposo, who posted up from the circle and lifted the puck right past defenseman Kevan Miller and goalie Anton Khudobin. The American winger is averaging close to three and a half minutes on the power play this season, but he's having a rough time defensively, as evidenced by a minus-27 rating. Fortunately, that statistic doesn't seem to be used all that often anymore.

Okposo recorded an assist during a 5-4 defeat to Colorado on Sunday.

The tally brought Okposo to 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in his last 20 games, by far the best offensive stretch he's had all season. However, with Jack Eichel (ankle) sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks, Buffalo's top power-play unit's efficiency could dwindle, which is where Okposo's logged 11 of those 18 tallies. Only time will tell if his power-play production dips, but the 29-year-old's 17:38 of ice time is still the most among Buffalo's right wingers, and he should still continue to see five-on-five scoring chances regardless.

While there's potential for a second-half rebound, fantasy owners should probably keep expectations in check. Buffalo is reeling in the basement of the Eastern Conference, and there's no reason to expect significant improvement is ahead.
