As the Kings approach a three-game road trip, Versteeg is dealing with an undisclosed injury, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. "He's day-to -day," coach Darryl Sutter said of the forward Sunday. "We'll get him back on this trip some time."
EDGE Analysis
In nine games with the Kings to date, Versteeg has notched two goals and three points, while upping his season totals to 13 goals and 36 points in 72 games overall.

Versteeg tallied a goal on two shots and a plus-1 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Monday's game, he hadn't scored in 11 straight games, which stretched all the way back prior to his trade from Carolina. He's now registered goals in two straight and could be on the uptick here in terms of production. Versteeg tallied a goal on two shots and a plus-1 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Stars.

Versteeg scored a goal and added a helper in Monday's 5-0 rout of the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
The points are his first in six games with the Kings after he put up 33 with Carolina prior to the trade deadline. Versteeg is a two-time Stanley Cup champion who knows how to win and find the scoresheet occasionally (315 career points in 537 games), so there could be a bit of value here in the final few weeks of the season, depending on who he's skating with. Right now, he's rolling in style on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Milan Lucic, so it wouldn't be surprising if Monday is the start of a little streak for the 29-year-old.

Versteeg returned to the lineup Monday but logged just over nine minutes of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg spent most of the night on the team's fourth line and didn't make an impact in the game. Versteeg was skating on the team's second line prior to his injury but we'll have to wait and see what his role is going forward.

Versteeg (upper body) was back at practice Sunday after exiting Saturday's game with an upper-body injury, the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg's presence at practice bodes well for his availability for LA's next game.

Versteeg left Saturday's game in the first period with an upper-body injury and did not return, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg was involved in a fight in the first period and skated only two more shifts before exiting though it's unclear if that was the cause of the injury. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Versteeg skated on the team's second line during practice Wednesday, LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg had been logging 16:23 of ice time, including 1:54 of ice time on the power play, with Carolina this season before being dealt to the Kings and it appears he may see a similar role with the Kings though it remains to be seen how much time he'll spend on the power play in LA.

Versteeg has been traded to the Kings for 20-year-old winger prospect Valentin Zykov and a conditional fifth-round pick, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal comes on the cusp of Monday's trade deadline. Versteeg has played in 63 games so far this season, racking up 11 goals and 22 assists on 136 shots this season. The deal gives the Kings another experienced winger on a team that already has the likes of Marian Gaborik and Milan Lucic and is clearly a move by the Kings to make a run at the playoffs, so look for Versteeg to come in as soon as possible to start contributing. Versteeg's first chance to play will be against the Canadiens on Thursday.

Versteeg was held pointless and skated a season-low 12:26 in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg, who normally forms part of the Canes' No. 1 line along with Eric Staal, found himself on the bench a little more often than usual as coach Bill Peters relied more heavily on his second line of Jordan Staal, Joakim Nordstrom and Andrej Nestrasil. Unfortunately for Versteeg, it's not hard to figure out why, as he has just two points in 10 games so far in the month of February. Given Versteeg's lack of productivity and declining ice time, there are better fantasy options out there for you right now. Go look.

Versteeg (illness) will play Friday against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg missed practice Tuesday due to an illness, but was able to return to practice Thursday, and was never in serious danger of being held out of Friday's matchup with Buffalo. The 29-year-old winger has played pretty well this season, notching 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) in 53 games.
