Versteeg dished out a pair of assists in Sunday's win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg had gone six straight games without a point, but he's now factored onto the scoresheet in consecutive games. The winger has just two goals though, and will likely need to pick up his current pace to reach the 50-point plateau for the third time in his career.

Versteeg recorded an assist in Friday's shootout loss to the Maple Leafs. It was his first point in seven games.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg has 11 points in 19 games so far this season, which puts him on pace for roughly 47 points if he plays all 82 games. And while that wouldn't be a bad result, the problem is Versteeg's lack of consistency. He tends to score in bunches, then disappears for long stretches at a time which tends to drive fantasy owners crazy. If you are patient and can stomach his long scoreless droughts, Versteeg should be fine over the course of a full season. Feel free to put him in your lineups as needed.

Versteeg collected a goal and two assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg's big night gives his five points in his last two games, as well as a plus-3 rating over the same span. It looks like the winger has benefited from the offseason change of scenery, as he now has two goals and eight assists in 12 games on the year.

Versteeg picked up two assists against the Avalanche on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg has just been floating around the league for several, never able to impress people enough to earn the chance to stick around. He does have six assists this season, and he did get 3:27 of power-play time, so perhaps he has found a niche in Carolina.

Versteeg scored a goal and added two helpers in a 5-3 win over the Red Wings on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg's first goal of the year 6:25 into the third period held up as the game winner in what was the Canes' first victory of the season. The 29-year-old figures to provide a veteran scoring touch in his first season with Carolina, bringing with him the experience of 279 points in 477 NHL contests and two Stanley Cups.

Versteeg notched his first point as a Hurricane in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Red Wings, assisting on Justin Faulk's power-play goal late in the third period.
EDGE Analysis
As long as the 29-year-old Versteeg can stay healthy this year, he has a shot at cracking the 40-point barrier - something he hasn't done in four seasons. For now, Versteeg continues to spend most of his time skating on the Canes' second line with Jordan Staal and Nathan Gerbe.

Versteeg (knee) took part in morning skate and is expected to play in Monday's exhibition opener against the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Versteeg had a cleanup procedure on his knee following the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup run, but it was never expected to be problematic heading into the upcoming season, as was evidenced by the Hurricanes' willingness to acquire the winger earlier this month. The Hurricanes employed Versteeg on the right wing next to the Staal brothers on the top line at morning skate, and it's possible he'll end up sticking in that role if he can turn in a strong training camp. Versteeg's plus-11 rating will almost certainly fall as he moves to one of the league's worst teams, but a prominent lineup spot could allow him to come through with another 30-to-40-point season.

The Blackhawks traded Versteeg, Joakim Nordstrom, and a 2017 third-round pick to Carolina in exchange for Dennis Robertson, Jake Massie, and a 2017 fifth-round pick on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Blackhawks needed to free up some cap space in order to re-sign Markus Kruger, so moving Versteeg and his $2.2 million cap hit is a step in the right direction. Versteeg was a solid contributor for the Hawks in 2014-15, tallying 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 61 games with the team. The 29-year-old winger is still recovering from a knee injury, but is expected to be ready for the start of the upcoming season. Versteeg will likely slot into a second or third line role with the Hurricanes in 2015-16.

Versteeg said Tuesday that he'll likely require an offseason procedure on his right knee, ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers reports.
Versteeg, who skated 11:14 in Monday's Game 6 Stanley Cup clincher, previously had the ACL in the same knee repaired in March 2013, but he likely won't require nearly as significant of a procedure this time around. Instead, Versteeg acknowledged that any operation would probably be of the clean-up variety, which should put him on track to return for the start of the 2015-16 campaign. Injuries interrupted what had been a solid start to the regular season for Versteeg, who was limited to 61 games and ended up finishing with 34 points. Versteeg saw his role diminish in the postseason, but with the Blackhawks running up against the salary cap and likely to explore trading away Patrick Sharp this summer, he could stick with the Blackhawks in a second- or third-line capacity in 2015-16.

With Bryan Bickell (upper body) taking line rushes Monday morning, Versteeg is unlikely to play in Monday's Game 3 against the Lightning, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Versteeg replaced Bickell on the second line for the first two games of the series, but all signs point to Bickell returning Monday night. Versteeg logged 9:32 and 11:55 of ice time in his two appearances, recording one shot on goal and two PIM.
