Versteeg, who normally forms part of the Canes' No. 1 line along with Eric Staal, found himself on the bench a little more often than usual as coach Bill Peters relied more heavily on his second line of Jordan Staal, Joakim Nordstrom and Andrej Nestrasil. Unfortunately for Versteeg, it's not hard to figure out why, as he has just two points in 10 games so far in the month of February.
